70 Christians Beheaded: Why is the Media Ignoring This?

Seventy Christians were brutally beheaded in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the mainstream media has barely said a word. If this had been any other group, there would be wall-to-wall coverage, but because the victims were Christians, their deaths are met with silence. The attack, carried out by the Allied Democratic Forces, a group aligned with ISIS, happened in the early hours of February 13. The militants stormed the village of Mayba, rounded up believers, and led them to a Protestant church in Kasanga, where they were executed.

It took nearly a week before families could even recover the bodies of their loved ones due to the sheer level of violence in the area.

Christian persecution is reaching horrifying new levels, and yet the world continues to look the other way. The Islamic State’s affiliate in Central Africa has been on a rampage, with over 6,000 Christians slaughtered since 2017. Since Christmas alone, at least 237 Christians have been murdered. The media ignores it. Governments refuse to acknowledge it. And yet, the bloodshed continues. John Samuel of Open Doors, a missionary group advocating for persecuted Christians, pointed out the clear pattern of unchecked brutality against believers, saying, “This massacre is a clear indicator of widespread human rights violations.” But who is listening?

Tristan Azbej, Hungary’s state secretary for persecuted Christians, is one of the few government officials daring to speak out. He condemned the slaughter, calling the victims martyrs and demanding that the world wake up. But what will it take? Western leaders are more interested in pushing woke policies than in stopping the real human rights abuses happening to Christians across Africa and the Middle East. They turn a blind eye, ensuring that these massacres continue without consequence.

This isn’t just another terror attack. This is a deliberate, systematic campaign to exterminate Christians, and it’s being allowed to happen. The question is, how many more will have to die before the world pays attention?
