New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to argue for defunding the police on Saturday, despite recent reports of surging violent crime in cities that have slashed police budgets.
“We are seeing these headlines about percentage increases,” the congresswoman claimed. “Now, I want to say that any amount of harm is unacceptable and too much. But I also want to make sure that this hysteria, you know, that this doesn’t drive a hysteria and that we look at these numbers in context so that we can make responsible decisions about what to allocate in that context.”
In a recent video tweeted by RNC Research, Ocasio-Cortez also said, “I agree with Representative Bowman, that I do believe that we need to reallocate resources away and that a big, you know, major causes of this — and by the way, I also think it’s important context because we hear on the news and media, they perpetuate this idea of crime wave, crime wave, crime wave, right?”
“And so this idea that a lot of us are panicked thinking that we are at some unprecedented level that we’ve never seen before,” she added.
Seems like AOC lives in a different reality from the rest of America. Increased crime stats are not “hysteria.” They are facts. Hysteria would be an extreme response to them, which would actually better fit AOC’s response than the concerns of most Americans.
If crime goes up, what is the best way to decrease it? For most people, the most logical answer is to increase policing and enforcement in areas where crimes occur.
But AOC doesn’t live by logic. Instead, she argues to “reallocate resources.” But moving money from police to say, social workers, isn’t going to stop gang violence or car jackings or robberies. Instead, when someone calls 911, there will be fewer people to answer the phone and respond to the crime.
Defunding the police might sound good to those who hope for a magical, peaceful society without enforcement, but in the real world, people who do wrong need to be stopped.
The best way to stop crime is with a well-equipped and well-trained law enforcement response.
A good example would be Jan. 6. What did Ocasio-Cortez do when she feared people would come looking for her? She looked for security. Police officers. Some kind of law enforcement to help.
Why? Because when you are in fear or in trouble, you need police assistance. A social worker isn’t going to come and shut down anything.
But you know what is hysteria? Maybe someone claiming to have PTSD and acting like she was at war when some protestors entered the Capital building. Yes, it was probably a bit scary, but AOC was reportedly not even in the building.
When it comes down to it, every American wants a good police officer around when there’s an emergency. This won’t happen without adequate support. America’s leaders, including most Democrats, know better.
So, the crime wave, something you can actually see, possibly experience or heard of it happening she doesn’t believe in, but, she believes in climate change, something that can’t be seen, heard or felt. She is got to be one of the top common sense and intelligence lacking person in the world.
A week ago I had her classified as being in the top ten stupidest people on the planet. Well, I need to congratulate her. She has been elevated to the top 6 stupidest people on the planet.
She smoking her weeds? This fool is just a mouth full of lies! Why not invited a couple of criminal into her place? Since New York turn them loose during the CORONAVIRUS. All over lies! And it these democrats who are responsible for those crime wave.
Okay, let’s say the crazy AOC is right. Let’s start at the top and work our way down. 1. Remove all security officers and protection from her and the other Reps for a year. Then do an indepth study of the information. And depending on the results we put together a 30 person committee an do a 6 month study on the need for protection to be resumed. Then write a bill, have it checked and sent to a citizen committee to be voted on. I figure it should take a couple of years to get through committee and another couple of years to become law. But I am sure AOC will be safe during this time period.

She is convinced a magic flute will take away all our problems and it will be free because, well, just because everything is free if you don’t pay for it.
