One of the favorite tactics of those on the left is to silence people based on their identity. However, when Ben Shapiro was faced with this all-too-common attack, he had a brilliant response.
Speaking at the University of Connecticut, Shapiro was confronted by a student who asked him what right he has to speak out against abortion seeing as he is a “white, well-off, religious man.”
His response was, “Because evil things are still evil even if I’m a white, well-off, religious man.”
This response drew a rousing round of applause by the audience, as Shapiro went on to explain his frustration with the left’s tendency to attack a person’s identity rather than address the validity of the argument they are making.
As the applause died down, Shapiro drew an apt comparison between not allowing men to speak out against abortion and not allowing those who didn’t own slaves to speak out against slavery.
As common-sense as it seems that everyone should have a voice on issues of morality, “no uterus, no opinion” remains a common rallying cry of the left when it comes to abortion.
