It seems President Joe Biden is taking his farewell lap by giving a big gift to anti-Israel activists while punishing America’s closest ally in the Middle East. As he packs up for retirement, Biden has decided to ease sanctions on terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah while slapping sanctions on Israeli Jews in the West Bank. This isn’t just policy; it’s moral insanity.
Here’s the backstory: Biden’s Treasury Department just reversed a 2022 ruling that barred the Foundation for Global Political Exchange from hosting a conference in Beirut featuring representatives from Hamas and Hezbollah. Yes, you read that right. Terror groups that openly call for the destruction of Israel got a green light to attend. Meanwhile, Biden’s administration rolled out Executive Order 14115, which targets Israeli citizens for “threatening the peace, security, and stability of the West Bank.” Translation: Biden is sanctioning Jews for protecting their own homes and land.
Normally, sanctions are reserved for actual criminals—those financing terrorism, abusing human rights, or engaging in nuclear proliferation. But Biden’s sanctions go after Israeli farmers and protest organizers. The administration has relied on “evidence” from anti-Israel organizations like DAWN MENA, which has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. This is the equivalent of taking legal advice from Twitter trolls.
One particularly egregious example involved a nonprofit that organizes volunteers to protect Israeli farms under constant threat of theft and terror. Why on earth would this group be sanctioned? Because in Biden’s America, defending your land is apparently a crime if you’re Jewish.
Even worse, 88 congressional Democrats are demanding Biden go further by targeting Israeli government officials and mainstream NGOs. Let’s call this what it is: an attempt to legitimize the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. Biden isn’t just appeasing the left-wing radicals in his party; he’s weaponizing their agenda.
The good news? President-elect Donald Trump can—and should—undo this madness on day one. Trump has already promised to restore America’s pro-Israel stance, and rescinding Biden’s executive order would send a powerful message. But the damage Biden is inflicting in his lame-duck term will set a dangerous precedent. Canada and the UK are already jumping on the bandwagon, with even harsher sanctions targeting Jews in the West Bank.
This isn’t about peace. It’s about progressive elites punishing Israel to appease their base. The left’s hatred for Israel isn’t just misguided—it’s dangerous. Instead of siding with our allies, Biden’s administration is emboldening terror groups and undermining stability in the Middle East. It’s time to stop the pandering and start standing up for what’s right.
