Biden’s #1 Agent Of Woke Can’t Save Himself Now

President Joe Biden’s Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, insists he has avoided “culture wars” during his tenure. However, his track record tells a very different story, as he pushed divisive policies such as the controversial Title IX rewrite, which sought to allow biological men into women’s sports and spaces. Despite his claims of focusing solely on student success, Cardona has routinely championed ideologically charged initiatives that alienated parents and drew widespread criticism.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Cardona dismissed those raising concerns over his policies, saying, “I’m not going to get distracted by culture wars. It’s nonsense, and I think the people that spew it, they make a fool of themselves.” His Department of Education, however, led the charge in proposing changes to Title IX to redefine gender identity as a protected class. Unsurprisingly, this proposal faced significant legal challenges and was ultimately withdrawn after fierce opposition from parents and lawmakers alike. A poll by Parents Defending Education revealed that the majority of parents stood against these efforts, underscoring just how disconnected the Biden administration was from public sentiment.

Cardona’s tenure was also marked by an aggressive push for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. He issued grants to schools to promote DEI-based training, often prioritizing political agendas over improving academic outcomes. Moreover, Cardona’s Department of Education was reportedly involved in pressuring the National School Boards Association (NSBA) to label parents concerned about critical race theory and gender ideology as “domestic terrorists.” This heavy-handed approach to dissent highlighted the administration’s disdain for parental involvement in education.

The Secretary of Education also became a key figure in Biden’s failed student debt cancellation efforts. Despite the Supreme Court ruling the administration’s broad debt forgiveness plan unconstitutional, Cardona and his team found loopholes to erase $183.6 billion in student loan debt, drawing ire from Republicans. Cardona even sent an overtly political letter to student loan holders blaming Republicans for blocking further efforts to cancel debt, a move critics slammed as inappropriate and inflammatory.

President-elect Donald Trump has already signaled a starkly different approach. His nominee to replace Cardona, former Small Business Administration head Linda McMahon, represents a return to prioritizing education fundamentals over social engineering. Trump has also been a vocal defender of women’s sports, promising to undo the damage inflicted by Biden’s policies.

Cardona’s tenure is a cautionary tale about the dangers of prioritizing woke ideology over practical governance. Democrats love to mock conservatives for being out of touch, yet they push policies that only resonate in ivory towers and faculty lounges. Conservatives know the real issues—ensuring kids learn math, science, and history instead of being indoctrinated by political agendas. Maybe Democrats should spend less time crafting speeches for “trans visibility day” and more time addressing the failing test scores plaguing America’s schools.
