CDC Director Rochelle Walensky Changes the Definition of “Fully Vaccinated”

Individuals against government mandates vaccine may be happy that CDC Director Rochelle Walensky has said that people who have gotten their shots but turned down the booster shots will still count as being “fully vaccinated.” However, a full reading of her comments clearly shows the government is leaving the door open.

As Mrs. Walensky made clear in comments to the press, the CDC is “not changing the definition right now of fully vaccinated.” She also clearly stated that guidelines could change as the agency gathers more “experience with our third shot.”

The CDC’s openness to changing the goalposts should alarm anyone who is concerned about basic rights. President Biden’s move to mandate vaccines for hundreds of millions of workers is invasive enough, and does not take into account the fact that many people have valid reasons for avoiding the shot.

What’s more, many people who have gotten a shot have experienced negative side effects from the jab or could at some point in the future. Forcing people to get another jab or even regular jabs in the name of “preventing the spread of COVID-19” is not only misguided, but also a path to tyranny. The government is setting the precedent that it has the right to make medical decisions on behalf of its citizens — and then force them to comply.

Remember, Biden told the nation in December 2020 that he would not mandate vaccines. As early as July 2020, Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that vaccine mandates were “not the role of the federal government.” House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi told journalists in early May that the government could not “require vaccinations for [members of the members [of the House of Representatives], much less for the American people.” Oddly, her stance has only changed somewhat, as House representatives are exempt from the vaccine mandate while ordinary Americans are forced into it.

The consequences of shunning the COVID-19 vaccine are piling up, as the federal government and liberals in positions of authority use their power to get unvaccinated Americans fired, deny them benefits, and even deny them medical care. Thankfully, the CDC is currently allowing Americans who got their shot to go about their daily lives for now. But as CDC Directory Rochelle Walensky makes clear, this may not always be the case. Americans may have to submit to even more mandatory shots if they want the government to grant them the “privileges” of holding down a job or traveling by plane.

The nation has already started down the road to tyranny. The only question that remains is how fast the descent will be.
