A cursory glance at left-leaning headlines points to something insidiously wrong with New Jersey Rep. Jeff Van Drew switching affiliation to the GOP. Liberal journalists have been laser-focused on the Congressman’s aides that won’t be joining him in the Republican Party. But what the authors of fake news don’t want everyday Americans to think about is that these defections highlight a “Do-Nothing” Democratic Party desperately trying to regain power through a phony impeachment.
Defections are rare in American politics, and the shift away from liberal extremist policies to conservative leadership demonstrates a Democrat agenda collapse.
“I have an election coming up, and if they disagree with what I’ve done, then they will vote me out, and that is something I would very warmly accept as their right,” Rep. Van Drew said.
After setting aside the people’s work to run a two-and-a-half-year impeachment scam, the impending one-sided vote was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Rep. Van Drew. Considered a “Blue Dog” Democrat, the Congressman worked across party lines to get things done for his constituents. It’s obvious the liberal extremist agenda of “resist and obstruct” will leave plenty of Democrats unemployed after the 2020 election. Rep. Van Drew was wise to defect now and earn the endorsement of President Donald Trump.
“Congressman Jeff Van Drew is very popular in our great and very united Republican Party,” President Trump tweeted. “It was a tribute to him that he was able to win his heavily Republican district as a Democrat. People like that are not easily replaceable!”
Although the fake news propaganda wants voters to believe that leaving the Democratic Party is somehow unethical, nothing could be further from the truth. Van Drew represents a moderate-to-conservative district that overwhelmingly rejects the left’s attempt to overturn the 2016 elections. Many in his district have also grown weary of Speaker Pelosi and the House majority not moving forward on issues such as border security and infrastructure. Pelosi has even gone as far as to try to take credit for the new NAFTA deal renegotiated by the Trump Administration.
So unpopular is the partisan impeachment hoax that the Democrat hierarchy are throwing millions into advertisement support through the House Majority Froward PAC in moderate districts.
“The 30-second spot differs region by region. The spot for Rep. Max Rose, whose district is anchored in Staten Island, is called ‘Like Hell,’ and the narrator says, ‘Max Rose knows you need to fight like hell to make things better. Thank him for fighting to lower drug prices.’ The ad they cut for Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia is called ‘And You’ — it says if Medicare could negotiate lower drug prices, it should be good for seniors, “for you, and you, and you.” The spot for Iowa Rep. Abby Finkennauer urges her to ‘keep taking names and lowering costs,’ and highlights the bill’s benefits for rural Americans” Politico reports.
President Trump won in 31 districts held by Democrats, and they have nothing to show over the last two years. Pelosi and the majority recently pushed through a series of flawed bills with popular titles designed to provide political cover for vulnerable Democrats. Few, if any, of the Democrat bills are likely to pass in the Senate. It’s another smoke and mirrors trick by the left. However, Pelosi has doled out sweetheart projects to help buoy moderates’ re-election hopes.
“Some moderates are getting even more. Rep. Anthony Brindisi, a Democratic centrist who is agonizing about how to vote, secured a major win in the defense bill that the House passed Wednesday — a provision designed to boost a local manufacturing plant in his district that Trump carried by more than 15 points,” the Washington Post reported.
The bold promises Pelosi and her caucus made in 2018 have not been realized in any meaningful fashion. That is, unless you are a never-Trumper happy with spending nearly $40 million on pointless witch hunts and wasting the people’s time. And, Rep. Van Drew is not the only Democrat to jump the sinking ship. In 2017, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice made an official change to the GOP at a Trump rally.
“I can’t help you anymore being a Democrat governor,” Gov. Justice reportedly told the crowd. “So tomorrow I will be changing my registration to Republican. (President Trump’s) got a backbone. He’s got real ideas. He cares about America. He cares about us in West Virginia.”
After two years of holding the House majority, Democrats have zero meaningful wins and continue to claim they want to tear down the America First policies that have put the country back on top and delivered the lowest unemployment in 50 years. Not only have they completely and utterly failed, but their vision would also send us all back to higher taxes, higher unemployment rates, and the number two world economy.
