Tudor Dixon, the Republican challenger, is now within striking distance of Michigan’s Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer in the latest polls, although Whitmer continues to have a slight advantage.
Compared to the results of the previous Detroit News and Detroit Free Press surveys, the Trafalgar Group poll shows Whitmer leading by six points (51% to 45%), indicating a much closer contest. Whitmer led Dixon by 13 points in a Detroit News survey conducted from the end of August to the beginning of September, while the governor was 16 points ahead in a Free Press poll conducted in the middle of last month.
Dixon tweeted in reaction to the Trafalgar poll results, “Even Gretchen’s millions in attack advertising can’t erase her record of failed promises. We are going to take down the Queen of Lockdowns.”
The Bridge Michigan study found the state has lost close to 82,000 jobs while Whitmer was governor, despite the governor continuing to highlight her economic “achievements,” the day before the Trafalgar survey was released. Whitmer has boasted several times about bringing 25,000 auto jobs to the state, yet none of those positions appear to exist.
Dixon attributes Michigan’s weak economy to Whitmer’s stringent COVID lockdown regulations.
Throughout the outbreak, Gretchen Whitmer “ordered the most severe and intense lockdowns in the nation,” Dixon told Bridge Michigan.
“She destroyed our small business community… and had hardworking Michiganders obey her invasive commands that chose winners and losers.” The GOP nominee added “That is her economic legacy.”
One of the most reputable survey businesses in the nation, Trafalgar, has already demonstrated its accuracy in Michigan. In 2016, the business was one of just a few pollsters to properly anticipate former President Donald Trump’s win in the state.
Democrats were ahead in the two other statewide contests, according to the most recent survey of 1,075 Michigan residents, taken between September 24 and September 28. Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel leads Republican attorney Matthew DePerno 48% to 45%, while Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson leads Republican candidate Kristina Karamo 50% to 45%.
Days before Dixon won her resounding primary election in early August, the former president sent her his support. Since winning, Dixon has unveiled a number of conservative initiatives, including as a Florida-style ban on public schools teaching sexual orientation and gender identity to K–3rd grade pupils and an increase in police budget of $1 billion.
Anyone voting for Whitmer should be hung in the middle of the town square.!! She destroyed your state and will continue to do so.

She’s a TREE HUGER that want’s every factory in Michigan to close down because they pollute, not caring that the people who have worked there for generations will be out of work! Just ask the National Steel employees how they feel about Stretchen Gretchen and her policies! People also forget how during her Lock downs she wouldn’t allow people to buy seeds to plant gardens because they were “NON-ESSENTIAL” or allow anyone to go fishing in a boat with an engine on it but you could row row row your boat, but the second she wanted her husbands boat put in the water they wanted his fuel hungry vessel launched ahead of everyone else’s boats! She put HEALTHY SENIORS in danger by housing Covid patients in the nursing homes with them! She lashed out against Trump for sealing up our borders (in record time) as a RACIST for doing it, and the list goes on and on about the rotten things she done that were simply inhumane against all MI residents! Michigan voters better be on high watchfulness alert during election. Dems are desperate, and in 2020 Michigan had high level of cheating discovered, and STILL being found. You know they’ll be trying everything they can, especially since not punished for 2020 hundreds of thousands found.
