Last week, a law was passed in Texas banning the majority of abortions. Naturally, the Democrats are beside themselves with rage. Nanci Pelosi quickly responded, telling reporters that a vote will be called to protect a person’s access to abortions. She says the new law is unconstitutional and is an assault on the rights and health of women.
The law prohibits abortions after a fetus exhibits a detectable heartbeat, which usually occurs six weeks into a pregnancy. Abortion advocacy groups say between 85 and 90 percent of women who seek abortions do so after the first six weeks. The new law contains a stipulation allowing anyone who has performed an abortion in violation of the law to be sued for up to $10,000.
Pelosi says the law makes it necessary to codify Roe v. Wade, a seminal ruling from 1973 in which the Supreme Court prohibited states from banning abortions before the 24th week. She told reporters, “On our return, the House will discuss Congresswoman Judy Chu’s Women’s Health Protection Act to enshrine reproductive health care for all women across America into law.”
If the House passes Chu’s bill, it may still be rejected in the Senate since Republicans would likely filibuster to prevent it. A companion bill to Chu’s bill now has the support of 48 Democrats, though a few still have yet to sign on.
As a matter of course, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez has come out saying that the filibuster itself should be abolished simply because it gives Republicans the ability to mount resistance to their goal.
However, we do not find Democrat’s strident opposition to abortion restrictions to be the least bit convincing. We do not believe they give a damn about the right of a woman to choose or her health. We do not believe it is truly about health and freedom for them. Planned Parenthood makes massive donations to the Democrat party in order to protect its ability to make money providing the only medical service they provide — abortions.
To make their case even less plausible, Planned Parenthood has been found and proven to make massive amounts of money selling aborted fetal tissues. These tissues and even whole fetus bodies are sold to university laboratories. They are sold to the manufactures of food products that include “natural flavors” on the list of ingredients. They are sold to makeup manufacturers, and only God knows where else they end up.
At the end of the day, we do not believe Democrats care about young mothers at all. We believe they want to protect a massive semi-underground industry that literally cannibalizes aborted fetus tissue. If you don’t believe aborted fetuses are extremely valuable to these people, consider the dollar amounts. A single aborted fetus can be sold for anywhere between $6,000 and $12,000. One research group is known to have paid $42,500 for 38 fetal brains, 12 hearts, and other assorted organs.
Most conservatives have little desire to stop women who may have been raped from terminating a pregnancy. But the idea of selling dead babies for cash, the fact that abortion clinics enter into the business knowing they will make most of their money this way – we cannot accept this. Not in a million years.
