A woman used her car as a weapon against federal law enforcement officers. An ICE agent, fearing for his life, fired defensive shots. The woman is dead.
And Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s response?
“Get the f**k out of Minneapolis.”
Not condolences for the officers who were nearly killed. Not condemnation of the violence. Not calls for calm.
Just rage at the federal agents who had the audacity to defend themselves.
What Actually Happened
Wednesday morning, ICE officers were conducting targeted operations in Minneapolis — the same city at the center of the massive Somali fraud scandal, the same city where Tim Walz’s negligence allowed billions to be stolen.
Rioters showed up to obstruct the operation. Because in Minneapolis, interfering with federal law enforcement is apparently a community activity.
Then a woman “weaponized her vehicle,” in Homeland Security’s words, and attempted to run over the officers.
An ICE agent fired. The woman died.
Homeland Security’s statement was clear: “An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.”
That’s not a controversial shooting. That’s textbook self-defense against a lethal threat.
The Mayor’s Priorities
Jacob Frey didn’t see it that way.
At a press conference after the incident, Frey raged at ICE: “To ICE, get the f**k out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here.”
Before the press conference, he posted on X claiming ICE is “causing chaos” and demanding they “leave the city immediately.”
Let’s be clear about what Frey is saying: federal agents enforcing federal law, who were attacked with a deadly weapon, should leave because their presence is inconvenient.
The woman who tried to kill them? Barely mentioned.
The fraud investigation that brought ICE to Minneapolis? Irrelevant.
The laws being enforced? Apparently optional if the mayor disagrees.
Domestic Terrorism Gets a Pass
Homeland Security called the attack what it was: “an act of domestic terrorism.”
Using a vehicle as a weapon to kill law enforcement officers isn’t protest. It isn’t civil disobedience. It’s terrorism.
But in Jacob Frey’s Minneapolis, the terrorist is the victim and the officers who survived are the villains.
This is the logical endpoint of sanctuary city ideology. When you spend years telling your constituents that ICE agents are the enemy, that immigration enforcement is immoral, that federal law doesn’t apply within your borders — eventually someone decides to act on that rhetoric.
A woman is dead because she believed what Democratic politicians have been saying for years.
“Could Have Just Moved Out of the Way”
It gets worse.
A Minneapolis city councilmember suggested ICE agents “could have just moved out of the way” of the car.
Just… moved. Out of the way. Of a vehicle being driven at them with intent to kill.
This is the level of reasoning we’re dealing with. Federal agents facing vehicular homicide should simply step aside and let it happen. Defending yourself makes you the aggressor.
By this logic, every murder victim should have just ducked. Every assault victim should have just left. Every crime is the victim’s fault for not evading effectively.
It’s not just morally bankrupt. It’s genuinely stupid.
Schumer Joins the Chorus
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer weighed in too: ICE agents “don’t belong in our cities” and there needs to be an “investigation” of the Minneapolis incident.
An investigation of what? An agent defending himself from being run over?
This is the Democratic Party’s position now. Federal law enforcement conducting lawful operations should be investigated when they survive attacks. The attackers are victims. The officers are suspects.
It’s complete inversion of justice, law, and basic morality.
The Fraud Investigation Connection
Remember why there’s heightened federal presence in Minneapolis in the first place.
Billions stolen through fraudulent daycares, food programs, and healthcare schemes. A scandal so massive it ended Tim Walz’s political career. Federal payments frozen. FBI Director calling it a “top priority.”
ICE and other federal agencies are in Minneapolis because Minnesota’s government failed catastrophically to prevent fraud. They’re there cleaning up a mess that local officials either ignored or enabled.
And the mayor’s response to that federal intervention is to scream obscenities and demand they leave.
Maybe if Minneapolis had done its job, federal agents wouldn’t need to be there at all.
What This Tells You About 2026
Democrats are already testing their midterm message: Trump is “chaos.”
The Minneapolis shooting fits that narrative perfectly — if you ignore who actually caused the chaos.
Federal agents conducting lawful operations isn’t chaos. Rioters blocking those operations is chaos. A woman using her car as a murder weapon is chaos.
But Democrats will blame the agents. They’ll blame Trump. They’ll blame everyone except the people who actually created violence.
This is their play for November. Paint enforcement as extremism. Paint self-defense as aggression. Paint law and order as oppression.
It didn’t work in 2024. But they’re going to try it again anyway.
The Protection Racket
Here’s the dark logic of sanctuary cities: Democratic mayors are offering protection to people who break federal law.
Come to our city. We won’t cooperate with ICE. We’ll obstruct enforcement. We’ll scream at federal agents who try to do their jobs.
That protection comes with a cost. When someone takes sanctuary ideology to its logical conclusion — physically attacking the agents being demonized — the mayor has to defend it. He has to blame the agents. He has to maintain the narrative.
Jacob Frey can’t condemn the woman who tried to kill ICE officers, because doing so would undermine everything his sanctuary policy stands for.
So he blames the survivors instead.
The Bottom Line
A woman tried to murder federal agents with her car. She failed because an ICE officer used his training and defended himself.
The Minneapolis mayor responded by telling ICE to “get the f**k out.”
That’s where we are. That’s what sanctuary cities have become. That’s the Democratic Party’s position on federal law enforcement.
The woman who committed domestic terrorism is dead. The officers she tried to kill survived. And Jacob Frey is angry at the survivors.
Minneapolis deserves better. America deserves better.
But as long as Democrats run cities like Minneapolis, this is what they’ll get.
