DeSantis Issues His Latest Bad Idea–WW3 With China

US presidential candidate Ron DeSantis stated to a Japanese media source on Tuesday that “what China respects is strength” in reference to preventing a conflict over Taiwan.

The governor of Florida, who is anticipated to run for the Republican nomination in the 2024 presidential election, stressed the need of upholding the status quo in Taiwan.

In an interview with Nikkei Asia in Japan, DeSantis stated that “the objective should be to prevent a military crisis from occurring.” This was his first stop on a tour that was considered an effort to bolster his reputation in terms of diplomacy and security.

DeSantis asserted that Chinese President Xi Jinping “clearly desires to take over Taiwan at some point” but that doing so would prove costly and counterproductive.

“Strength is ultimately respected in China,” he said, according to the site.

Despite not having formally declared his 2024 candidacy, DeSantis now poses the greatest polling and media attention challenge to former president Donald Trump.

His remarks came as Tuesday’s meeting between Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, another potential Republican presidential contender, took place in Taipei.

China claims that democratic Taiwan belongs to its territory and has made a long-term commitment to annexing the island.

Following Tsai’s visit to Los Angeles, China staged three days of military simulations this month that mimicked “sealing off” Taiwan, escalating tensions between Washington and Beijing.

DeSantis’ trip, which is described as an effort to expand Florida’s commercial potential, will also take him to South Korea, Israel, and Britain.

The 44-year-old conservative met with Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Monday and commended Tokyo for its decision to update its security plan and increase defense expenditure.

According to Nikkei Asia, DeSantis remained mum over his support for a US military intervention should China attack Taiwan.

Additionally, he claimed that if the United States is concentrating on dangers in Asia, European nations “need to do more” in regard to the conflict in Ukraine.

  1. China has had many weak democrat pussies in the WH and plenty of opportunities to invade Taiwan, so why haven’t they? These sub humans only respect brutality and we must recognize that they’re our sworn enemy. If we crash their economy by decoupling and boycott, no matter how economically painful it may be, they’ll implode and have mass anarchy that will make those recent protests look like a picnic.

  2. DeSantis is in the business of sinking himself. Leave the Bush clone alone and let him complete his own destruction.

  3. He didn’t actually do what this article implies; he did not propose war with China. He is a great governor and patriot, and reflects what a great number of us ate thinking.

  4. WE CANNOT GO TO WAR WITH CHINA, AFTER BIDEN MADE OUR MILITARY WOKE. JUST LOOK AT MILLIE WHO WAS IN AFGHANISTAN DEBACLE.OUR GUYS WOULD BE CANNON FODDER, BIDEN MADE US TO WEAK AND THEY KNOW IT. WHAT A SHAME AFTER TRUMP MADE OUR MILITARY SO STRONG. BUT ANYONE THAT IS FOR WOKE IS AGAINST OUR NATION…..
