Former President Donald Trump has announced his return to social media with his own personal platform.
In the immediate aftermath of a small band of protesters storming the Capitol Building on January 6, every major social media platform purged all of Trump’s accounts while he was still the sitting president. It was expected that Trump would then join the pro-free speech platform Parler, but Amazon pulled the site’s hosting shortly after.
Silicon Valley entities blamed the former president for intentionally inciting the riot, even though video evidence shows Trump actually discouraging his supporters from trespassing on federal property. As we all know, this wasn’t enough to satisfy social media elites. Even MySpace, which hasn’t been relevant in more than a decade, followed the example of Facebook and Twitter in permanently banning the former president from using their sites.
More recently, Facebook admitted that the ban went against its own rules — but maintained that Trump’s ban would remain permanent. Now, the former president has found a way to continue getting his message out there.
Trump is now posting his characteristic “tweets” using a live blog on his own website. The posts allow readers to share the remarks on their own social media accounts.
Taking a scroll through the page makes it seem like nothing has changed. It’s almost nostalgic to read.
“What Facebook, Twitter, and Google have done is a total disgrace and an embarrassment to our Country,” Trump posted on May 5. Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before. The People of our Country will not stand for it! These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process.”
His latest post at the time of writing takes shots at Rep. Liz Cheney, the current House Republican Conference Chair.
“Liz Cheney is a warmongering fool who has no business in Republican Party Leadership,” Trump said. “We want leaders who believe in the Make America Great Again movement, and prioritize the values of America First. Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice, and she has my COMPLETE and TOTAL endorsement for GOP Conference Chair. Elise is a tough and smart communicator!”
At this point, we’re sure Big Tech elites are going to find a way to shutter this speech too. Trump has essentially become a real-life Voldemort for the radical left. In the meantime, keep up with the former president here.
