Americans that actually enjoy watching a bunch of dots running around a field in games that often end with scores of 2-1, 1-1, or even 0-0 already know this, but England’s national team did not bring it home when it was defeated by Italy in the Euro 2020 finals. This isn’t how the wokeists in England see it, however. You see, the “football club” won the argument by being a constant mouthpiece for leftist political messages.
It isn’t clear what the actual argument was. We’ve been informed that the Euro 2020 was in fact a soccer tournament, so anything outside of that doesn’t seem relevant — unless you’re an England supporter.
British media, which suffers from much of the same leftist infiltration that American media does, placed constant praise on the English team for its diversity and woke virtue signaling. Players famously took a knee while their national anthem played at the beginning of games — to the loud tune of boos from the audience.
It’s not clear who this demonstration was for exactly. Soccer fans in England aren’t exactly known for their woke proclivities. However, this did seem to win the hearts and minds of people who previously didn’t care much for sports at all.
In the end, their political loyalties didn’t prove too effective at actually winning games. After a 1-1 final score, Italy ended up winning the match by scoring more penalty shots than English players. You know what this means, right?

I am a White American Man and I think the spineless, pitiful excuse that the Italians are racist is disgusting. I thought Blacks were the best athletes on earth ? Hmm, apparently not. I’m so happy the Italians won over the Puny, Woke, Liberal Leftists English Team. Oh, and another thing, about that 19 yr old missing the point, like they say,

One of these days they will “wake” to find there are no fans left. It will be at that moment they will really become “woke” and realize they will have to get a real job. And with their resume that may be very difficult. I don’t see a lot of openings for athlete activist. If you had a part in destroying multi billion dollar businesses it’s hard to imagine any company wanting to hire you.
