Epic Fail: California Gov. Deflects Blame As Recall Vote Looms

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently admitted that he’s worried a recall effort will succeed and remove him from office. With nearly 2 million signatures and public opinion against him, the Democrat appears to be playing the same blame game that got him into hot water.

“Am I worried about it? Of course, I’m worried about it,” Newsom said on The View talk show. “The nature of these things, the up or down question, the zero-sum nature of the question is challenging. So, we’re taking it seriously.”

Left-wing hosts such as Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Baher did their best to help rehabilitate the fellow Democrat’s reputation. They allowed him to pretend the recall petition was driven by far-right shadow organizations. Newsom reportedly said these “are folks that quite literally enthusiastically support Q-Anon conspiracies.”

The governor also launched a website called “Stop the Republican Recall” that blames “national Republicans, anti-vaxxers, Q-Anon conspiracy theorists and anti-immigrant Trump supporters,” among others. To say his efforts to deflect blame for the lengthy list of leadership failures goes way over-the-top.

“Gavin Newsom is resorting to political desperation. He now, finally, has accepted the fact that there will be a recall election being held this year to decide the direction of California and his political fate,” RecallGavin2020 campaign spokesman Randy Economy stated. “For him to continue to label the people’s campaign as extremist is sad, pathetic, and just goes to show how out of touch he really is.”

Recent California public opinion polls indicate that his approval ratings cratered from 64 percent in May to 46 percent in recent weeks. Californians, including at least one former billionaire supporter, launched six recall petitions based on his abject failures. But after the insulting hypocrisy that Newsom displayed during the height of the pandemic, the number of signatures far-exceeds the minimum state requirement, and this thing has legs.

Since taking office in January 2019, Newsom emerged as a classic blamer. During the 2020 wildfire crisis that ravaged more than 4.3 million acres, Newsom deflected blame from his failed forest management policies. He claimed that “climate change” — not unhealthy woodlands rife with dead brush and tinder –were responsible. When the Golden State suffered widespread rolling blackouts in 2020, his office declined to take responsibility for power grid failures. Again, Newsom blamed climate change over failed energy management.

“This is exactly what so many scientists have predicted for decades. It’s manifesting quite acutely here on the West Coast of the United States also manifesting in droughts, not just wildfires,” Newsom said.

The truth is that the state became overly dependent on wind and solar resources that were unable to meet rising energy demands during West Coast heat waves. Last year marked the worst power shortages because Newsom and far-left Democrats put political optics ahead of secure policy.

The clincher for voters may have been how Newsom applied double-standards during the pandemic’s peak. He was caught on video enjoying a fine dining experience with unmasked liberal elites. Restaurants, including the one he and his wealthy friends were seated, had been ordered closed because of the virus. It was a slap in the face to small business owners he forced to close. His ‘rules for thee but not for me’ elitist attitude appears to be a driving reason California residents grew fed-up.

After more than two years in office, the Newsom Administration failed to curb homelessness, crime, illegal immigration, and excessive taxation. Under Newsom’s failed leadership, the state suffered the highest number of COVID-19 infections and deaths. Maybe he can blame that on climate change too.

    1. That’s what they do! Like the spoiled children they are, whenever they get caught, blame someone else!!

    2. agree totally and it is time we as voters got smarter and started voting for the person and not the party as just since Jan the party in the Federal government has let us down. And we have Gov all over the country are letting their people down.

  1. Is he that stupid? Trying to shift the BLAME on other people? His name all over everything that has destory California! Even his TRADE WITH CHINA! Could had brought THOSE mask from an America company. BUT NO like his aunt PELOSI , HE DECIDE TO INVEST IN CHINA ECONOMY!

  2. As usual, liberals are smarter, have greater feelings for others so know what they need, put climate control
first over the economy, and treat disagreement by others as racist or homophobic attitudes.
When all goes wrong, they blame Trump, Republicans,
    Or climate problems.
Can we get a recall on liberals please!

  3. The left doesn’t care if they spiral down the bowl as long as they are “in charge”. They constantly trip over their OWN rules. Mandatory mask wearing is just one example. The other day Newsom said he would appoint a black “female” to replace Fartstain if she were to “suddenly retire” (Hint Hint). No mention of his equally decrepit Auntie Nancy – who SHOULD retire. But I thought wait a damned minute…….isn’t gender identity ILLEGAL in California? Unless it is politically expedient?

    1. Columbia University is dividing the graduating class into racial groups? Excuse me if I am wrong but isn’t the entire ideal of “Equality” – to “un-seperate” people?

  4. Yah & when all you liberal californians leave that crap hole & move to another state do America a favor & leave you’re politic’s right there in Cali.
All y’all do is destroy the places you move to with your Cali mindset.

  5. It’s the Dem-o-craps way, blame anyone other than themselves for their destructive actions. It’s called The Blame Game; however it’s not a game, it’s ‘real life’s and it’s our lives they’re screwing up.
