FLASHBACK: America Dodged a Bullet When McConnell Squashed Garland’s SCOTUS Nom

In less than one year as U.S. Attorney General, Merrick Garland proved he would have subverted the rule of law and replaced it with progressive radicalism. America was lucky then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to seat Garland on the U.S. Supreme Court when Barack Obama nominated him for the post in 2016.

Consider where the country would be today if the Obama liberal handed the high court to the whims of a liberal bloc. Everyday Americans recently witnessed Garland bringing the power of the Department of Justice and FBI to bear against parents. After expressing their frustration that school boards continue to teach hate-based Critical Race Theory (CRT) curriculum and lie about it, Garland labeled them “Domestic Terrorists.” Providing no reasonable explanation — other than Joe Biden’s progressive handlers directed him to violate parents’ rights — Garland doubled back and essentially misled Congress.

“(I) can’t imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children,” Garland reportedly testified. “I do not believe that parents who testify, speak, argue with, complain about school boards and schools should be classified as domestic terrorists or any kind of criminals.”

And yet, that’s precisely what he did. Without a federal criminal complaint or incident, Garland targeted parents who reject CRT. And in Loudon County, VA, a school board reportedly violated a female student’s rights by allowing a male to put on a dress, enter the girls’ bathroom and rape her. Merrick Garland has not screamed for a civil rights investigation, even after the school board tried to conceal the alleged crime.

This is the progressive view of American society. Create protective classes of people — who happen to vote for Democrats — and insulate them from criminal prosecution. Cry foul or petition elected officials for reasonable safety and education standards, and you get labeled a domestic terrorist.

Oddly, the same organization that sent the initial letter to Joe Biden’s handlers has retracted its contents. The National School Boards Association discovered its president, Viola Garcia, and interim CEO, Chip Slaven, essentially went rogue. The national association went as far as to apologize for the actions of its progressive leadership.

“As you all know, there has been extensive media and other attention recently around our letter to President Biden regarding threats and acts of violence against school board members. We wanted to write to you directly to address this matter,” a memo issued by the board to its members indicates. “On behalf of NSBA, we regret and apologize for the letter. There was no justification for some of the language included in the letter.”

But in terms of understanding how Merrick Garland operates behind the scenes and metes out justice, a left-wing board sends a complaint letter to the country’s top Democrats and the A.G. acts without even a cursory investigation.

“Merrick Garland mobilized the FBI to intimidate parents without legal basis and, we now know, premised on misinformation he didn’t bother to verify,” Sen. Josh Hawley reportedly said. “It was a dangerous abuse of authority that has badly compromised the Justice Dept’s integrity and Garland’s.”

If Obama’s former flunky had reached the high court, free speech would only protect liberal ideologies, gun rights would have been essentially eliminated, and the government could control houses of worship. If Garland handed liberals the majority on the high court, anyone who disagreed with the likes of AOC or Joe Biden would be deemed an enemy of the state, aka Domestic Terrorist. We dodged a bullet thanks to Mitch McConnell’s leadership at the time — but the rule of law has never been more fragile.
