Georgia Republican congressional candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene had a few choice words for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and she chose her victory speech following a runoff primary election last Tuesday to tell the world exactly how she felt about the often-mocked Democratic leader.
Greene defeated John Cowan to earn the GOP nomination for Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, and was quick to call out Pelosi, of whom she is obviously not a fan.
“She’s a hypocrite. She’s anti-American. And we’re going to kick that bi— out of Congress,” Greene said.
Greene not only called out the Speaker of the House, but she also did not hesitate to take the opportunity to tell the Democrats about themselves. And while she was at it, Greene also told some members of her own party that came out against her exactly how she felt as well.
“The GOP establishment, the media, & the radical left, spent months & millions of dollars attacking me,” she posted on her social media page. “Tonight, the people of Georgia stood up & said that we will not be intimidated or believe those lies. I’m excited to be the next Congresswoman of GA 14! God bless America!”
Greene was attacked by several members of the Republican Party, and had come under recent scrutiny due to videos on social media that ostensibly showed her support of QAnon conspiracy theories, and is said to have views that have been construed to be racist, Islamophobic, and anti-Semitic.
The videos came to light just after Greene came in first during the June 9 Republican primary. In the videos, she complains of an “Islamic invasion” into government offices and said that Black and Hispanic men are held back by “gangs and dealing drugs.” She also believes that billionaire philanthropist George Soros collaborated with the Nazis and whoever else he could, to do evil things.
Those that disapproved of Greene’s comments included many prominent Republicans including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California, Rep. Jody Hice of Georgia, and Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana. They all called her comments disgusting.
“The comments made by Ms. Greene are disgusting and don’t reflect the values of equality and decency that make our country great,” Scalise said in a statement to Politico. “I will be supporting Dr. Cowan.”
Greene responded to the criticism of her comments on social media, “The Fake News Media, the DC Swamp, and their radical leftist allies see me as a very serious threat. I will not let them whip me into submission,” she said.
She is known as a staunch Trump supporter and stands behind a strong pro-gun, pro-border wall, and anti-abortion platform.
Greene will face Democratic candidate Kevin Van Ausdal in November’s general election.
Congratulations and good luck. I will be pulling for you November 3rd. We need someone like you in congress.
