Telling supporters, “I will be there for all Dreamers,” Georgia Democrat Senate Candidate Jon Ossoff voiced support for the Feds to pay illegal immigrants workplace protections. Ossoff’s Sunday campaign event addressed questions from immigrants seeking his views leading up to the January runoff election.
Ossoff posted a portion of his question and answer session in a video on Twitter. He tweeted, “Dreamers, DACA recipients, are every bit as American as any of us. I will have your back in the Senate.”
Let’s analyze Ossoff’s view, shall we? A “Dreamer” is an undocumented American. In other words, someone who is in the nation illegally. Such individuals are not Americans.
Further, a Dreamer is a lawbreaker (unless some type of visa or other legal paperwork is in secured). A Dreamer is not “every bit as American” because he or she is not an American at all.
And what is a DACA recipient? A DACA recipient stands for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. It refers to individuals raised in the United States after being brought into the nation illegally by parents or other adults. However, a DACA recipient is still not an American citizen unless he or she completes the citizenship process.
Yet Ossoff referred to Georgia’s immigrant farm worker situation by stating, “When federal agents arrive at one of these farms it should be to make sure people are being paid the minimum wage, working in humane conditions.”
How about first making sure the workers are in the country legally? Only then would these workers be under legal work protections.
So much for America first! Yes, some immigrants work in “brutal conditions” as Ossoff states. However, this does not mean people who are not American citizens are entitled to the same fair wages and workplace protections.
Further, Ossoff’s past comments have indicated support for other questionable immigration policies, including controversial sanctuary cities. Does he intend to back Georgia cities that would keep law enforcement from enforcing federal immigration law? This would not be a surprise, as Ossoff has also poured compliments on House speaker Pelosi for her $3 TRILLION Heroes Act that includes unemployment benefits for people working in America illegally.
Former Democrat presidential candidate Julian Castro has also campaigned with Ossoff recently, offering Hispanic connections to bolster support for Georgia’s January runoff election. Yet Castro was the candidate who wanted to open our borders and advocated to repeal the US law that makes illegal immigration a federal crime. And, by the way, Castro just happened to serve in the Obama administration.
Ossoff continues to garner support across the state’s Latino population as part of his Senate runoff election January 5 against Republican Senator David Perdue. In addition, GOP incumbent Senator Kelly Loeffler and Rev. Raphael Warnock face off in the other Georgia Senate battle.
With Republicans currently leading the Senate 50-48, Democrats need to win both Georgia seats to reach a Senate tie, with Vice President “elect” Kamala Harris serving as the tiebreaking vote.
A Democrat Senate tie, essentially giving the Senate over to the left, cannot happen. Democrats have already stolen the presidency and have control of the House. The destruction of a fully-Democrat controlled government should cause anyone who loves America to run to the support of Georgia’s GOP Senate candidates.
