Upstart Socialist Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a victory lap on social media after undermining New York officials’ efforts to bring 25,000 Amazon employment opportunities to the Big Apple. Now, a negative campaign leveled by the Job Creators Network is taking the anti-Jobs liberal AOC to task.
“Anything is possible: today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world,” AOC tweeted.
Her words ring hollow to New Yorkers who would have gained jobs with an average salary of $150,000 plus benefits. In return for a $3 billion initial tax break, Amazon would have generated upwards of $25 billion in tax revenue at a time when the state suffers a massive deficit. What makes AOC’s celebration ironic is the fact that her campaign was reportedly fined for failing to provide workers’ compensation insurance to staff members, and she’s only guaranteeing her congressional team a $52,000 annual salary. That’s about one-third the pay of Amazon’s that she claims amounts to “worker exploitation.”
In a targeted response to AOC upending the valuable employment benefits that her own district would have reaped, the Job Creators Network has erected billboards letting New Yorkers know that AOC cost them and their families a better life.
“25,000 Lost NYC Jobs. $4 Billion in Lost Wages. $12 Billion in Lost Economic Activity for NY,” a Midtown billboard states. “Thanks for Nothing AOC!”
Another billboard went up on 7th Avenue expressing outrage over AOC celebrating the jobs loss on social media. “Hey AOC, Saw your wack tweet,” the billboard states. The entire affair has gotten public and messy as organizations with goals of improved household income and taxable revenue push back on AOC and socialists to avoid further debacles.
“These billboards are the follow up to a series of billboards that criticized AOC’s role in pushing Amazon, and their 25,000 jobs, out of New York,” Job Creators Network stated.
The organization has also proactively taken aim at AOC’s signature legislative proposal known as the Green New Deal. She is pushing for a radical change away from fossil fuels to only renewable energy and an end to diesel trucking transportation, taxicabs, airplanes, and beef for all Americans.
“The first billboard reads, ‘Hey AOC, the Green New Deal Stinks.’ The second billboard is just below the first and mocks Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that ‘farting cows’ are a major problem contributing to global warming as mentioned in part of her ‘Green New Deal,’” the Job Creators Network said in a press release. “It also points out that the proposal is estimated to cost anywhere from $51 to $93 trillion dollars. If anything is clear from AOC’s rock star-like profile in the Democratic Party and the policies of the former Obama Administration, it’s that this should by no means be shrugged off as more political theater. Former Pres. Obama circumvented voters and pressured powerful agencies such as the EPA to wage war on industries he disliked, such as coal. The jobs loss and economic fallout from shuttered mines decimated entire communities. AOC’s deathblow to 25,000 good-paying Amazon jobs with benefits mirrors the same abuse of power that crushed family livelihoods. It’s also no secret that former Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton stated on the record she would close a lot of coal mines. Such radical liberals have no compassion for hardworking American families — neither does AOC and her job-killing Green New Deal.
“If this Green Raw Deal is enacted, you can kiss the American dream goodbye. It will require a nauseating amount of money to meet the promises and the massive welfare increases called for by this so-called deal,” JCN President and CEO Alfredo Ortiz said. “Small business owners are successful in America due to our country’s commitment to free-market policies. The socialist policies in Ocasio-Cortez’s plan have no place in America.”
It’s safe to say that everyday Americans working to provide a better future for themselves and families cannot afford AOC’s ideas.
