In an attempt to remove Vice President Kamala Harris from office as the Biden administration’s “border czar,” Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) has filed articles of impeachment against her for “willfully and systematically” declining “to uphold Federal immigration laws.” She allegedly “breached the public trust,” according to a second provision of the resolution.
Politico and the Washington Examiner reported on Tuesday that Ogles introduced the resolution to impeach Harris, the presumed Democratic nominee, based on screenshots of the paper that Politico’s Olivia Beavers tweeted. According to Ogles, Harris has committed “serious crimes and misdemeanors” related to the surge in illegal immigration and the border problem.
According to the Associated Press, in March 2021, President Joe Biden assigned Harris to oversee immigration law enforcement and instructed him to “engage with Central American governments to address the underlying causes of the problem.” However, Ogles’ resolution has led to several accusations against Harris.
The resolution primarily highlights Harris’s “desire to maintain current immigration policies and a tangible lack of concern for Americans enduring the consequences of the southern border crisis.”
With the exception of one trip that was “hundreds of miles distant from the crux of the migrant issue,” it further claims that Harris has “consistently declined to visit the southern border to examine this continuing national disaster.”
About ninety days after Biden appointed her to lead the operation at the border, Harris returned on that trip in June of 2021.
According to Ogles, the border problem has had a “disproportionate” detrimental impact on American women and girls, “tragically extenuated by” Harris’s “inaction.” She cites rapes, assaults, and killings committed by illegal immigrants that have attracted national attention.
“An illegal alien murdered and sexually assaulted 5-year-old Rachel Morin in August 2023. An undocumented immigrant attacked a mother and her 9-year-old daughter in Los Angeles in September 2023. After threatening to beat the 15-year-old New York girl with a pipe, an illegal alien from Turkey sexually assaulted her on May 14, 2024. Unauthorized immigration murdered 22-year-old Laken Riley, a nursing student, in February 2024. An illegal alien strangled and sexually abused Jocelyn Nungaray, a 12-year-old Houston girl, and accused five other illegal aliens of kidnapping a 14-year-old Indiana girl. In June 2024, an illegal alien raped a 13-year-old New York girl in broad daylight inside Queens park.”
Ogles also mentions that the first five months of Fiscal Year 2023 saw the seizure of 106 pounds of narcotics, including 11,000 pounds of fentanyl. December 2023 saw approximately 302,000 illegal immigrant border interactions, the biggest ever recorded in a single month.
According to the Examiner, a second story claims she “breached the public trust,” accusing her of deceiving the American people “to obscure Biden’s physical and cognitive well-being.”
