Leftists Target Senator Tim Scott with Racist Insults After Speech

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott became the target of racially-charged attacks after the Republican lawmaker delivered the GOP’s official response to President Joe Biden’s first address to a joint session of Congress.

Progressive Democrats proved they were unable handle the fact that an African-American would actually not agree with their proposals, and took to social media to lambast the Senator. It got so bad that Twitter decided to block the “Uncle Tom” label in order to maintain a modicum of civility on the site.

Sen. Tim Scott has a friendly, endearing manner. Rather than emulate former President Donald Trump, he smiled and spoke calmly even while addressing heated subjects. He rightly noted that the Trump Administration’s Warp Speed program should get the credit for creating COVID-19 vaccines in record time, and then drawing up a plan to distribute these throughout the United States. He pointed out that while President Joe Biden calls for the public school system to receive more funding, he has not pushed for schools to reopen, making it difficult if not impossible for tens of millions of children to get a decent education. As the senator noted, this move primarily affects minority parents who can’t afford good computers and high-speed internet and don’t have the funds needed to put their children in private schools.

Sen. Scott also talked about his life story and noted that while he believes America needs to make progress in addressing racism, the nation is not inherently racist. His statement infuriated liberals, some of whom were already addressing the Senator from South Carolina using racist epithets such as the “N” word and “Uncle Tom”.

Joy Behar took it one step further, making the utterly ridiculous claim that Sen. Scott “doesn’t understand what systemic racism means.”

If positions were reversed and a conservative news anchor (such as Sean Hannity) made such a statement about a black politician (for instance, VP Kamala Harris or Rep. Maxine Waters), the mainstream news media would create an uproar and protestors would angrily demand resignations. Naturally, the news media is entirely silent about the harassment Sen. Scott has received for simply being black and conservative.

Black Americans have long been considered a reliable voting block for the Democratic Party. However, this has started to change. President Donald Trump outperformed Mitt Romney and other past GOP presidential tickets among black voters. Like all Americans, black voters want a prosperous nation, good jobs, affordable housing, and good schools for their children. As citizens of a free nation, blacks should have the right to voice their political beliefs. Sadly, it’s the very same Democrats who complain about “systemic racism” who are all too eager to vilify any African-American who dares to disagree with them.
