Liberals Have a Complete Meltdown Over Ajit Pai and Net Neutrality

So, according to liberals, December 14, 2017 represented the End of the Internet. The Federal Communications Commission voted 3-2 to remove the restricting Title II common carrier designation that defined Internet service providers (ISPs) up until this point. All of the Republicans on the Commission voted smartly along party lines to change the rules.

Liberals refuse to recognize the truth of the actual vote. In case you haven’t been keeping up with the case (neither did liberals until they thought it would gather high rankings in the news), here are the basics.

The Title II common carrier designation defines all ISPs, such as Comcast and Verizon, as affirmative action vehicles for the Internet. They cannot function as the independent companies they are. Until the December vote, these companies were forced to provide services to people who could not afford it, give expensive concessions to websites that were not big enough to warrant them, and lose profits just for choosing to bring Internet to our homes and businesses.

Now that the ISPs are no longer defined as Title II common carriers, they actually have the ability to make a profit from their business. What a concept – the ability to be profitable in a democratic, capitalistic country!

Clearly, this is not something that liberals enjoy. What is truly funny is that they broadcast their message against ISPs on the very Internet that those ISPs were providing them. Every liberal video trolling FCC Chairman Ajit Pai was brought to every liberal ear through a connection that was brought about by the hard work of the people at Verizon, Comcast, AT&T or whatever ISP was providing service in that area.

Libearls also skip over this point – repealing Title II common carrier status does absolutely nothing to repeal so-called “net neutrality laws.” No law regulating the Internet has actually been changed at all. The only thing that has changed is that the service provider now has control over the service they provide. In what other industry is this even a concern?

In the place of actually educating the public about the issue, liberals chose to create a bad guy and raise ratings by bashing him. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai had been the spokesperson for repealing Title II common carrier status for a few months, and had served as the lightning rod for criticism. In numerous interviews, Mr. Pai said that his family had faced credible physical threats, including his children.

Mr. Pai was subjected to even more ridicule by amateur liberal newscasters on the Internet. Every leftist with a computer mic and a camera set up a YouTube channel and gave an opinion that started to sound very similar after the third video with the same title.

Liberals could still fight for “net neutrality” in Congress, but do you think this will be a huge story in the news? Not likely. There is no boogey man to focus attention on (Ajit Pai). There is no sexy phrase to dangle in front of viewers to create drama (net neutrality). You can bet that now that the story will fall by the wayside, and whatever positive changes that the FCC and ISPs were going to make can go ahead and get made without whiny lefitst interference.

Conservatives would be wise not to rattle the cage. The one mistake that the FCC made was to release a humorous commercial starring Ajit Pai detailing “what you will still be able to do after the FCC vote.” The message was decent, but the delivery was purposefully amateurish and meant to be ironically comical. It backfired, because it made Mr. Pai even more of a target than liberals made him during the week before the vote. Millennials in particular seemed to be the butt of the joke.

Getting back to the actual issue, now that ISPs can actually generate profit from their services, they will be able to invest in even faster services for people who pay their fair share. Contrary to liberal beliefs, Internet companies gain nothing from throttling websites. As a matter of fact, speeding up service to underserved rural areas is one of the stated goals of ISPs who can now invest in fiberglass infrastructure.

Time will tell just how wrong liberals are on this issue, but of course they will be on to the next brush fire, ignoring all common sense and logical arguments.
