Media Proven To Be One Sided By New Study

A recent report says that the ABC News show World News Tonight has generally positive things to say about Vice President Kamala Harris, but generally negative things to say about former President Donald Trump.

A study by the Media Research Center’s (MRC) NewsBusters looked at “100 campaign stories” that aired on David Muir’s World News Tonight and found “25 clearly positive comments” about Harris from “reporters or other non-partisan sources.” This meant that the news outlets that covered Harris only said good things about her.

MRC looked at 100 campaign stories from July 21, when Harris first announced her run for president in 2024, to September 6.

A study of ABC’s coverage of Trump found “five clearly positive comments” and “66 negative statements.” This means that the news outlets that covered Trump gave their stories a 93 percent negative spin.

A report from the MRC called NewsBusters said that “ABC’s reporters and hosts either jumped in to attack Trump themselves or aired negative comments from non-partisan sources to give the former President’s coverage a highly negative spin.”

As an example of how biased the news source was when covering Trump vs. Harris, during an interview with Trump in January 2017, Muir seemed to suggest that Trump wasn’t presidential when he talked about the support of the people.

Trump kept talking about his speech during the interview. He said that Fox News and “other networks covered it very poorly,” while ABC News and “other networks covered it great.”

In a different case, Muir asked Biden if he blamed Trump for the deaths during the COVID-19 outbreak and called the Trump administration careless during an interview with President Joe Biden and Harris in August 2020.

In other cases, Muir has told Harris she was making “history” and cut off former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) for bringing up the fact that Democrats have denied election results in the past.

This comes at a time when Muir and Linsey Davis, a reporter on ABC News Live Prime, will be in charge of the presidential debate between Trump and Harris this week.
