Transgender ideology has fully infected not just society at large, but also medical schools as professors are now too scared of woke students to mention controversial words and phrases such as “male”, “female”, “pregnant women”, and “breastfeeding”.
Professors, even if they don’t agree with their woke students, are often forced to give in to their viewpoints in order to avoid problems. One professor was reduced to tears after her students took to an online forum to correct her for using the terms “male” and “female” in class. One was forced to apologize to his entire class for saying, “when a woman is pregnant.” Yet another professor was forced to apologize for using “cisnormative” terms such as “father” and “son.” Students circulated a petition calling out a professor who, when discussing transgenderism, talked about a man changing into a woman. Woke medical students think the statement is inaccurate because they assume the “man” who thinks he is a woman is always a woman.
The problem with forcing the medical community to adopt a woke ideology is that its total inaccuracy does a disservice to every single person who needs to seek help from a medical professional at some point. Medical professors now risk censorship for telling aspiring doctors and nurses that some medical conditions are more prevalent in males than females. This can include how early warning signs of a heart attack vary by gender, and telling students that male and female kidneys process drugs differently.
Without this basic knowledge, doctors can’t treat their patients properly. Male and female bodies are built differently, so treatment for each is obviously different as well. No amount of transgender propaganda can change basic medical science.
Even transgenders would be hurt by the medical community’s refusal to provide accurate information. As one pediatrician rightly noted, puberty blockers could actually be making it difficult for individuals to transition long-term, a fact that many future doctors may not know unless a brave medical professor who isn’t afraid of cancellation or harassment dares to tell students about it.
The fact that the medical community is setting aside basic biology and science out of political fear puts hundreds of millions of people in danger. Future could put patients at risk by prescribing the wrong medications, or failing to notice warning signs of common yet potentially deadly health problems. Sadly, such problems don’t seem to faze woke, left-leaning medical students. They are far more concerned about pushing a far-left agenda than learning how to provide proper medical care.
