Radical Feminist: Abortion Is “Killing That We Need to Be Able to Defend”

The recent stricter abortion laws states across the country have passed, including Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, and Ohio, have infuriated pro-abortion advocates. As a result, they’re taking their positions to unimaginable places. In a disturbing new video, a radical feminist described the murderous practice of abortion as “killing that we need to be able to defend.”

According to TheBlaze, the video featured extreme feminist and author Sophie Lewis. She casually referred to pregnancy as “gestational work” and the heinous act of abortion as “acceptable violence.” Reading Lewis’ words paints an evil perspective of liberal feminism in America.

“We’re facing a really terrible attack on abortion,” the author stated. “In the U.S. where I live, in Northern Ireland and elsewhere. In the past, the strategies that our side has tended to use have included a kind of ceding ground to our enemies. We tend to say that abortion is ‘Indeed very bad, but,’ or we say ‘Luckily it’s not killing, luckily it’s just a health care right.’”

Continuing her bizarre rant, Lewis remarked, “We have very little to lose at the moment when it comes to abortion and I’m interested in winning radically. I wonder if we could think about defending abortion as a right to stop doing gestational work. Abortion is, in my opinion, and I recognize how controversial this is, a form of killing. It is a form of killing that we need to be able to defend.”

Going even further, the leftist feminist commented, “I am not interested in where a human life starts to exist. I see the forms of making and unmaking each other as continuous processes. The other end of the spectrum is learning how to die well and hold each other and let each other go at the end of our lives, as well as at the beginning.”

Concluding her far-left viewpoint, Lewis said, “But looking at the biology of the hemochorial placentation helps me think about the violence that, innocently, a fetus meets out vis-a-vis a gestator. That violence is an unacceptable violence for someone who doesn’t want to do gestational work. The violence that the gestator meets out to essentially go on strike or exit that workplace is an acceptable violence.”

The strange video was posted by Verso Books, a publishing house.

The media clip was made public in an effort to promote Lewis’ latest book “Full Surrogacy Now: Feminism Against Family.” In the troubling work, the extreme feminist maintained that the concept of family should be abolished. TheBlaze labeled her notion “a starkly Marxist ideal fully tested in the 20th century.” In her book, Lewis also contended that human reproduction should only occur through surrogacy.

Left-leaning magazine The Nation recently interviewed the author. Summarizing Lewis’ thesis, the liberal magazine said the radical feminist “specifically links family abolition to a radical reconceptualization of pregnancy itself. The act of carrying a child to term, she insists, is work—labor that has long been exploited and overlooked by the academy—and so is mothering.”

In the 2020 presidential contest, abortion is a hot topic. During his tenure in the White House, President Donald J. Trump has worked hard to protect the innocent unborn. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the more than two dozen Democrats trying to unseat him in 2020 are seemingly competing with each other to see who can be the most pro-abortion candidate.

When he entered the presidential race, former Vice President Joe Biden was considered by many to be a moderate voice in a sea of far-left candidates. However, last week, Biden caved to the pressure he was getting from pro-abortion advocates, and rescinded his support of the Hyde Amendment. The bill bans the use of federal funding to pay for abortions except in cases of incest, rape, or a life-threatening pregnancy.

Prior to last week, Biden, reportedly a devout Catholic, had been in favor of the Hyde Amendment for four decades. Before his blatant flip-flop, Fox News reported that “Biden had defended his support of the amendment just a day prior, but told voters at a Democratic National Committee gala in Atlanta that he could no longer support it because of his belief that ‘health care is a right.’”
