Some Leftists Did NOT Celebrate Trump’s COVID Diagnosis (But MOST Did)

To those of you who are concerned about the President and are praying for his health and that of his family, we are with you in your sentiments and prayers. The good news is that President Trump and Melania appear to be doing very well. The President himself as a man in his mid-70s and mildly overweight is in one of the highest risk categories. Despite this, he has an expected 95% or better chance of surviving the Coronavirus infection with which he was diagnosed last week.

As can be expected, the vast majority of the Left openly wished for Trump’s death and that of his family. They hurled insults, acted superior over his lax use of face masks, and were generally horrible. This is no surprise, however. Over the last four or five years, the Left has been thoroughly exposed for its hateful nature, its woker-than-thou attitude, and its willingness to impose rules that its adherents will not follow.

In short, they have shown themselves to be hateful, vile, and childish. But it bears saying that not all proponents of left-wing politics are as horrid. Some, though few, have displayed maturity and decency. We thought it would be well to publish the words of these outliers in the Democratic Party.

Joe Biden, likely at the behest of his handlers, tweeted, “Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family.”

Democrat Senator Joe Manchin expressed well wishes and took the opportunity to admonish us all to wear out face diapers, tweeting, “Gayle and I are praying for a speedy and healthy recovery for President Trump and the First Lady. West Virginians know firsthand how serious COVID-19 can be. Please continue being safe. Wear a mask, social distance when possible and wash your hands.”

Democrat Senator Doug Jones, followed Manchin’s oily example, tweeting, “Waking to the news that President Trump and First Lady have tested positive, Louise and I hope that they have no symptoms and wish them a speedy recovery. This is a reminder for all of us folks. This thing can get any of us. Wear a mask. Social Distance. Be safe.”

Donna Brazile, the former advisor to the Hillary Clinton campaign, who published a book on the horrors behind the scenes of that campaign, including active attempts to steal the election, tweeted, “Mr President, Madam First Lady and others: wishing you a speedy recovery. My Grandma Frances, a survivor of the last pandemic, would make us this awesome root vegetables soup. I got her recipe! Here to stir up a little soup to get y’all through. For now, rest and take it easy.”

Even Rachel Maddow took the time to wish the President well and availed herself of the opportunity to exaggerate its lethality for political purposes.

While these attempts at social grace are appreciated, we cannot help but notice how each of them, except Donna Brazile, used it as an excuse to appear morally superior. We’re not impressed.
