The Left’s Book Burning is Officially Out of Control

What do Dr. Seuss and the Muppets have in common?

Apart from their target demographic — that is, young children — they’re also apparently extremely racist and/or fascist propaganda pieces designed to turn your kids into white supremacists.

There was a time when writing something like this would have fit squarely into the “satire” category. Honestly, we really wish that was still the case. Now that it’s actually happening, it’s hard to imagine how we survive this as a culture.

Recently, it was announced that six Dr. Seuss books will no longer be published due to “racist” imagery. Now, you might be thinking: Dr. Seuss characters aren’t even human, so how can it be racist? You might even be thinking: didn’t Dr. Seuss cut his teeth by publishing anti-Nazi comics during the Second World War?

None of this matters anymore, apparently. The entire culture must be purged in the name of political correctness and whatever the woke whims of the day happen to be.

Similarly to Dr. Seuss, the Muppets program on the Disney+ streaming service now comes with a disclaimer that depicts other cultures in an insensitive way. Yes — the show about talking teddy bears is problematic too now.

All of this might seem inconsequential, but it isn’t. Cultures need cohesion to survive. Even societies with diverse backgrounds like America need some degree of commonality between individuals. The radical left is making this impossible by canceling things like children’s programs and books.

So, have we reached the point of no return? Will it ever be possible to restore the bonds that held our culture together? We normally like to end on a positive note, but we just can’t this time — because we honestly just don’t know anymore.

Here’s Mark Dice with more thoughts on this.
