YouTube is continuing it’s anti-free speech crusade by censoring anyone who prominently speaks out against its apparent progressive agenda.
The video streaming service has become far more draconian in enforcing anti-“hate speech” rules in recent weeks. After conservative commentator and comedian Steven Crowder published a video criticizing and poking fun at Vox personality Carlos Maza, the entire channel became demonetized — meaning Crowder is no longer able to bring in any revenue from anything he uploads.
More recently, a channel called Black Pidgeon Speaks, which publishes heavily produced commentary pieces on cultural issues as well as non-political topics such as traveling, was removed entirely. The channel was later restored following a social media backlash from supporters.
Channels like these routinely run into problems with YouTube authorities. But, as anyone could have predicted, it isn’t stopping there.
Now, YouTube is taking bizarre moves to silence middle-of-the-road journalism. Tim Pool, a content creator who has long established himself with work for outlets like Vice and Fusion, recently saw one of his videos removed without warning or context. Ironically, the video in question reported on social media censorship. As of the time of writing, the video is still unavailable.
While Pool has made appearances on programs like Crowder’s, he is by no means in the same category. Not that it should matter, but Pool doesn’t even identify as conservative, although he is often critical of the progressive left’s cultural agenda.
With this latest development, it’s becoming more and more clear that there simply isn’t much of a future left for free speech-loving content creators on this platform. Watch Tim Pool himself explain the situation in the video below.
