Trump Administration Wants a Second Stimulus Bill BEFORE the Election

The Trump Administration is pushing for another coronavirus stimulus bill to be distributed to Americans before the upcoming election. The bill is slated to take $2 trillion out of the public coffers. The plan may include tax cuts from the paychecks of working people, and also aid for Democrat-run states and cities like California and Chicago.

The bill is also expected to include spending on infrastructure and spending to protect businesses from the cost of losing production time due to a possible second wave of the virus. But the question of whether or not to extend aid to debt-ridden, Democrat-run areas persists.

Speaking of a second wave, we know beyond any shadow of a doubt that is exactly what Democrats are hoping for. They relish any opportunity to force Americans to stay home from work and to refrain from exercising their God-given right to freedom of movement. The reasons for this are simple: one, they are control freaks, and two, anything that hurts the economy hurts the chances of an incumbent president of being reelected.

While the first Coronavirus stimulus bill was designed primarily to deliver relief to those who are out of work as a result of lockdown orders, the second one will be more focused on protecting businesses. During the first wave of the virus, small and medium-sized businesses took the brunt of the hit. We see the evidence of this in stories like that of the Texas woman who was jailed for refusing to shut down her hair salon.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that conservatives will be more willing to consider extending aid to states that are Democrat-controlled. It should be noted that Democrat-controlled areas have been the hardest hit by lockdown orders.

Democratic voters are statistically more likely to obey shelter in place orders. The topic has been politicized with face masks becoming a symbol of those who are eager to obey the dictates of Democrat governors, and to believe that President Trump is somehow at fault for the damage done by the Chinese virus.

But extending aid to Democrat run areas is controversial, as Democrat policies are historically proven to raise unemployment, poverty, homelessness, drug use, violence, and other misfortunes. That means lending a hand to Democrat states could be a waste of money. We have little reason to believe that money will ever reach the voters who need it.

But if the aid does reach Democrat voters, it will likely help sway the election in Trump’s favor. This is the crux of the debate in Republican strategy meetings. If the bill does aim to help Democrat-controlled areas, the bill should and will be designed to make it difficult for Democrat leaders to siphon it away from the people who need it.

Naturally, getting a bill that forces Democrats to share wealth and power will be a hard fight. If the bill gets through the way the administration wants it, Americans will feel the benefits — just as we did with the first stimulus bill.
