“The data proves it,” Homan proudly stated on X. “We have never seen numbers this low. Never.” Homan, who previously served as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), credited President Trump’s aggressive deportation initiative as a key deterrent. “The TRUMP EFFECT keeps America winning,” he emphasized. Indeed, America’s decisive action under Trump’s leadership is sending a clear message to the world: illegal crossings will not be tolerated.
Contrast this historic victory with the chaos that reigned under the Biden administration. Not long ago, our southern border was a disaster zone, overwhelmed by caravans of migrants encouraged by Biden’s open-border rhetoric and policies. According to Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott, more migrants illegally crossed in just the first two days of June 2024—over 7,000—than during the entirety of last month. Under Biden’s watch, single-day crossings often surpassed the entire monthly totals we’re now seeing under President Trump.
The numbers speak volumes. In June of last year, more than 83,000 migrants illegally crossed our southern border. Go back to June 2023, and the figure jumps to over 99,000. And in June 2022, we witnessed an appalling 192,000 illegal crossings. Now, thanks to Trump’s bold policies, we’ve seen that number plummet to a mere fraction, restoring order and lawfulness to our borders.
Trump’s immigration crackdown isn’t just about numbers—it’s about protecting American families, jobs, and communities. Illegal immigration strains our public resources, undermines our security, and erodes respect for the rule of law. By enforcing immigration laws firmly and consistently, this administration is putting the safety and well-being of Americans first.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem echoed this commitment, stating unequivocally, “The world is hearing our message: the border is closed to law breakers.” Under Trump, Border Patrol agents are finally empowered to do the job they signed up for—defending America from threats abroad and at home without politically motivated interference.
