Trump Designating Antifa Thugs as Domestic Terrorists is LONG Overdue

Americans across the country have taken to the streets to protest the death of George Floyd, but thugs from the notoriously violent Antifa organization have hijacked their mostly peaceful social movement. Now, President Donald Trump vows to bring these offenders to justice for attacking police, burning buildings, and dishonoring the memory of George Floyd.

“The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization,” Trump tweeted. “Congratulations to our National Guard for the great job they did immediately upon arriving in Minneapolis, Minnesota, last night. The ANTIFA led anarchists, among others, were shut down quickly.”

Antifa has been a long-standing problem for law enforcement. Unlike other terror organizations, Antifa lacks a defined hierarchy. Although the group communicates on social media — without reports of being censored — there seems to be no defined financial infrastructure or leadership. Those are reasons FBI Director Christopher Wray and other officials have been hesitant to label citizens as domestic terrorists, unlike ISIS.

“For us, Antifa (is) more of an ideology than an organization,” Wray reportedly said. “We don’t think of Antifa so much as an organization.”

But after police officers have been murdered during the riots and pallets of bricks have been mysteriously appearing at protest locations, the president, U.S. Attorney General William Barr, and high-ranking Senators are moving to label Antifa what they are — domestic terrorists.

“It is time to stop watching the violence and to confront and stop it. The continued violence and destruction of property endangers the lives and livelihoods of others, and interferes with the rights of peaceful protestors, as well as all other citizens,” A.G. Barr stated. “The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly.”

Already radical left-wing zealots including the politically biased ACLU are coming to the aid of the criminals. High-ranking Democrats fear they will be exposed for the false accusations that “white supremacists” are responsible for participation and violence at Black Lives Matter protests, a head-scratcher to say the least.

Liberal politicians are working in cahoots with the establishment media to claim the White House and law enforcement do not have the authority to designate Antifa as a terror cell. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Under the 2001 Patriot Act, these violent extremists could be deemed a domestic terror outfit and law enforcement could use heightened investigative tools to arrest them and sentence them to lengthy prison sentences. Many believe the move is long overdue.

“In the wake of George Floyd’s tragic death, Americans, including myself, are angry and each of us has a right to protest peacefully. But the violence, destruction, and anarchy brought to cities across America by mobs incited by Antifa are not principled protests and are detracting from the peaceful protests,” Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler said. She went on to say Antifa thugs “often ignite tensions, commit acts of violence, instill fear, and spread chaos.”

In keeping with the sentiments of the White House, Department of Justice, and American people, Sen. Loeffler introduced legislation that would brand the threat actors once and for all. If Democrats lose the House in the November elections, the likelihood of such a measure passing increases and President Trump would undoubtedly sign it into law.
