Trump Expands Travel Ban, Democrats Resist — AGAIN

The recent pushback against the Trump Administration expanding the travel ban proves that Democrats care nothing about everyday American lives. Their efforts are driven purely by a lust for power, and they are, again, attempting to resist and obstruct efforts to keep hard-working families safe from terrorists.

President Donald Trump recently green-lit a move to restrict travel from additional countries. Visas have been suspended from Nigeria, Myanmar, Eritrea, and Kyrgyzstan. Diversity visas for those in Sudan and Tanzania will no longer be awarded, although tourism and work travel may not be affected.

“We’re adding a couple of countries to it, very strong,” President Trump reportedly said. “We have to be safe. Our country has to be safe. You see what’s going on in the world. Our country has to be safe.”

The president faced fierce opposition to the travel ban during his first year in office. Democrats ran to left-leaning courts to cherry-pick judges and get favorable rulings. Although they bogged the safety measures down, the U.S. Supreme Court ultimately ruled in President Trump’s favor. No terror group has successfully penetrated the U.S. and carried out a plot on American soil since the travel restrictions took effect.

“President Trump’s security and travel proclamations have immeasurably improved our national security, substantially raised the global standard for information-sharing, and dramatically strengthened the integrity of the United States’ immigration system,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grishan stated. “The orders have been a tremendous and vital success.”

Despite the incredibly successful policies, Democrats are again opposing the policies. The fake news media has been quick to rekindle the false narrative that these restrictions are about racism and not national security.

“I’m not surprised that the countries included are home to many Muslims, whom he has mercilessly denigrated to score political points,” Indiana Rep. André Carson said, a Muslim member of Congress. “And I’m not surprised that many on this new list are also African nations, which he has previously insulted in some of the most vulgar and offensive ways. As a Muslim and a black man, it pains me to witness this low moment for our country.”

In what seems like effort to open the country to possible jihadist attacks, House Democrats are pushing to pass the National Origin-Based Anti-discrimination for Nonimmigrants Act, or NO BAN Act. The left unsuccessfully introduced the measure in 2019 in an effort to resist the high court’s decision. Like other measures Democrats have put forth, the so-called NO BAN Act would place a check on the president’s authority. The fake news media tends to give such pipe dreams plenty of coverage, knowing no sitting president would ever sign them into law.

“We have no other answer to this shameful policy but to pass the NO BAN Act, which will amend the underlying law, repeal the existing travel bans and fix the hole in the heart of American immigration law that was created by this ungrounded decision,” Delaware Sen. Christopher Coons reportedly said. “Only by getting this act passed and signed into law will we be certain that future presidents won’t act based on fear, prejudice, and a lack of grounding and real information.”

Fortunately, clearer minds are at the helm of the Department of Homeland Security, where officials are implementing the restrictions because these countries have failed to put adequate screening and safety precautions in place. The expanded travel ban — at least for the Trump Administration — has everything to do with keeping American lives out of harm’s way.

“These countries — for the most part — want to be helpful, want to do the right thing, [to] have relationships with the U.S. and are in some cases improving relations, but for a variety of different reasons failed to meet those minimum requirements that we laid out. The only way to mitigate the risk is to impose these travel restrictions,” acting Department of Homeland Security secretary Chad Wolf reportedly said. “We wanted to make sure that these six countries mitigate the risk. We want to send a signal that we’re very serious about this but not cripple all of their various visas, so there’s a number of visas they’re still able to use.”

For those who are concerned liberals will impede the expanded travel ban and place America’s sons and daughters at risk, worry not. Democrats haven’t won on a single substantial issue in more than three years. It’s a safe bet their streak remains intact.
