Former President Donald Trump released a statement Friday to blast the Biden’s administration’s immigration policies. He called it “totally out of control” and claims “our country is being destroyed.”
Trump’s statement noted, “Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden. Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration. A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute.”
His argument is clearly not against our Border Patrol or other officials who serve the nation as public servants. His beef is with Biden and his leftist friends who have supported an open door to tens of thousands of illegal immigrants since the inauguration.
Trump’s statement also noted, “There has never been a time on our southern border like what is happening now but more importantly, what is about to happen. Now that Biden has implemented nationwide Catch-and-Release, illegal immigrants from every corner of the Earth will descend upon our border and never be returned. You can never have a secure border unless people who cross illegally are promptly removed.”
The crippling catch-and-release policy implemented by former President Barack Obama was promptly halted during Trump’s administration. Under Biden’s leadership, the policy is back.
The move means the thousands of detained illegal immigrants (not including those not detained) are being arrested and then released. These illegal immigrants can then freely move about the country until their hearing.
Worse, those crossing the southern border are not being tested for COVID-19. At the very time Biden attempts to proclaim a slow victory over the virus, he has opened the doors to spread the illness faster than before he entered office.
Guess who really appreciates Biden’s current policies? Drug smugglers and human traffickers. They’ve had great access to America lately thanks to recent policy changes. Expect to see more drugs and trafficking victims as we also seek to help those poor souls Biden couldn’t seem to turn away.
One bit of good news in his statement is that Trump isn’t done with politics. Not even close.
His statement also added, “Despite being delayed by years of litigation and politics by the Democrats, the wall is almost finished and can be quickly completed. Doing so will save thousands of lives.”
Some border states may attempt to restart construction on their own. Despite pushing against federal policy, Texas and perhaps others will seek to protect the citizens of their own states.
But Trump also has something bigger in mind — a return to office. He has claimed he won’t make any announcements until after the 2022 midterm elections, but he is already signaling what many conservatives crave — another Trump run for the White House.
Whether Trump or another conservative candidate, he’s right about the wall. It wouldn’t solve the immigration problem, but it would sure help. We need any assistance we can at this stage. As Trump has made clear, our country is being destroyed.
