In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Sirius XM, Trump told them that his gathering next weekend at Madison Square Garden sold out in just a few hours.
In a 25-minute special report interview on Saturday, Trump talked with Matthew Boyle, who is the Washington bureau chief for Breitbart News. When asked what people in the US can expect at his gathering in New York City on Sunday, Trump said that it would be a sold-out event.
“It was gone in less than three hours. People are still going to come, though. Outside, there are big TVs. This is going to be crazy. Come any way you want.” Trump said, “I mean, come on, maybe you get in. I don’t know, but it sold out very quickly. That’s great. It’s going to be wonderful.”
Madison Square Garden has a long and interesting past with American politics, entertainment, and sports. In March 1971, Muhammed Ali and Joe Frazier fought the “Fight of the Century.” It was also the site of the famous Game 7 of the 1970 NBA Finals and the New York Rangers’ Stanley Cup win in 1994.
Music legends like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and the Rolling Stones have performed at the New Garden. It has also been the site of several Democratic National Conventions and one Republican National Convention in 2004. And, of course, Marilyn Monroe sang the most famous version of “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962 at the old Madison Square Garden, which closed in 1968.
Trump first told Breitbart News in December 2023 that he was thinking about holding a gathering at the Garden.
He asked, “I can rent Madison Square Garden; that’s the belly of the beast, right?”
Trump is looking forward to a magical night on New York’s biggest stage. He also has a lot of other big events coming up, one of which is this Saturday in Pennsylvania.
