Update: Portland is STILL a Warzone Thanks to Left-wing Violence

When far-left activists in Portland began blocking off streets, assaulting police officers, and attempting to burn down federal buildings, Oregon Governor Kate Brown thought she and her ilk were safe. She took to Twitter to denounce systematic racism, saying it wasn’t enough to “mourn” for the death of George Floyd — but that we must all commit ourselves to “racial justice.”

Apparently, the anarchists that have overtaken whatever the Black Lives Matter movement was supposed to be did not get the memo, because they’re not sparing anyone. It doesn’t matter if you have a ‘D’ next to your name – you are the enemy if you are perceived to be part of a system, which governors certainly are.

So, it’s a real head scratcher when people like Governor Brown and others make outrageous statements denouncing federal involvement in widespread riots. Clearly, when it comes to protecting law abiding citizens and federal property such as courthouses, they are not up to the task. So, President Donald Trump has no choice other than to get involved.

Unfortunately, these are local problems that require local solutions. This means that, until Democratic mayors and governors understand that their own constituents don’t want to have anything to do with whatever this “movement” is, far-left political violence will continue.

And let’s clear something up here: it isn’t just police officers who are facing these threats. It’s everyday people. It’s business owners. It’s innocent bystanders. It’s anyone the mob sees as vulnerable. This is an area where local government certainly has a role to play, and they are failing to do their duty.

If this wave of violence is allowed to continue, every major city in America will look exactly like Portland. Law abiding citizens will live in constant fear, and this is exactly what the anarchists want.

In other words, this is political terrorism, and it must be dealt with.

Here’s Carl Benjamin with the latest on the chaos in Portland.
