Will Hillary Clinton Really Challenge Her Electoral Loss?

Hillary Clinton has been making waves recently following the release of her book What Happened.

Of course, to most Americans, the question of “what happened?” is one that is easily answered. Clinton was ill-prepared, over-confident, neck-deep in controversy, and never even took the time to seriously campaign in several of the states she ended up losing. Put another way, she ran what is arguably the worst campaign in United States history.

But for Clinton, that answer isn’t good enough. Instead of having the courage to face the facts, Clinton has spent the past few months casting blame on everyone under the sun. Everyone from Russia to the DNC to married women to conservative news outlets have been caught in her “shoot first and ask questions later” approach to the blame-game.

Now, though, Hillary Clinton is taking her delusions to new levels. In a recent interview with Terry Gross on NPR, Clinton suggested that she is considering challenging the results of the 2016 election. Here’s a small snippet of Clinton’s interview with Gross:

GROSS: “I want to get back to the question, would you completely rule out questioning the legitimacy of this election if we learn that the Russian interference in the election is even deeper than we know now?”

CLINTON: “No. I would not. I would say —”

GROSS: “You’re not going to rule it out?”

CLINTON: “No, I wouldn’t rule it out.”

This shocking admission comes in spite of the fact that even the members of the intelligence community who insist there was Russian interference in the election are quick to say that there is no evidence to suggest that the Russians were able to sway a single American vote. It also comes in spite of the fact that during the course of a witch hunt that has lasted ever since Trump took office, there is zero proof that Trump or anyone on his team were complicit in this Russian interference or were even aware that it was taking place.

Of course, facts such as these never bothered a woman who makes up her own version of the truth at will. In the weeks leading up to the election, Clinton balked at Trump’s suggestion that he would challenge the results if there was significant evidence of voter fraud. She called the idea of not accepting the results of a presidential election un-American and frightening. Now, though, Clinton is doing the very thing she was apparently appalled by, and without a shred of evidence or reason to back up her stance.

There is one point, however, where we can give Clinton a little credit – she admits she doesn’t have a leg to stand on. When asked if there were any means by which she could legitimately challenge the election, Clinton said, “Basically I don’t believe there are. There are scholars, academics, who have arguments that it would be, but I don’t think they’re on strong ground. But people are making those arguments. I just don’t think we have a mechanism.”

Does this mean that Clinton won’t move forward with the outlandish idea of challenging the election? For now, it seems that she does have at least enough of a grasp on reality to realize that challenging the election it isn’t possible, but, given more time for her to sink even further into her delusions, anything can happen.

In the meantime, all of the smoke and mirrors that Clinton and her ilk have focused so much of their efforts on is nothing but a terrible distraction at a time when this nation needs more than ever to remain focused on what’s important. The North Korea threat is more frightening than it has ever been, immigration and healthcare are both a mess, tax reform and a new infrastructure plan need to be put into place, and, most of all, the country needs to overcome the division that has been created and come together to tackle all of these problems with the unstoppable force of American unity and ingenuity.

None of these things seem to matter to Hillary Clinton, though, who would much rather spend her time and resources trying to prove that her crushing defeat wasn’t actually her fault – a decision which proves, yet again, that the good of her country has always taken a backseat to her ego.
