America Needs to Put Christ Back in Christmas

The true meaning of Christmas seems to be under attack every year. We hear more about “holiday season sales” than about the birth of Jesus, and heaven forbid you say “Merry Christmas” without someone looking at you like you’ve broken a law. The fact is, Christmas has become just another political battleground. But at its heart, Christmas isn’t about the latest gadget or the best “holiday deal.” It’s about something deeper, something Democrats and the media would rather we all forget: the birth of Christ.

Christmas is the celebration of God’s gift to humanity. Over two thousand years ago, a child was born in Bethlehem under humble circumstances. The story is familiar yet profound: Mary and Joseph, rejected by all, found shelter in a stable. There, Jesus, the Savior of mankind, entered the world not with fanfare, but in the quiet presence of the animals. This humble setting was the beginning of the most significant life in human history, a life that still has an impact on millions today. It’s this gift — this miracle — that we’re supposed to celebrate on December 25th.

It’s hard to deny that Christmas in America has drifted far from its roots. The left would rather have us focus on the materialistic or secular aspects of Christmas, emphasizing only the “season of giving” without mentioning the reason for the season. Democrats have made a tradition of attempting to scrub out anything that hints at faith, God, or any moral grounding they find inconvenient. They’re more concerned with putting up “inclusive holiday displays” than acknowledging that Christmas is, by nature, a Christian holiday.

Meanwhile, the rest of us gather together with our families, celebrating the true message of Christmas — one of hope, redemption, and light overcoming darkness. It’s not about gift lists or holiday movies. It’s about honoring the One who came to save us. In Matthew 1:21, it says, “She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” That’s a truth no one can take away.

So while the malls blare “Frosty the Snowman” and the media tries to turn Christmas into a generic winter holiday, let’s keep our focus on what really matters. Let’s keep Christ in Christmas. Let’s make sure that we’re teaching our kids that this holiday isn’t about presents under the tree but about a promise that changed the world.

Christmas is a time to celebrate faith and freedom — two values the left seems to misunderstand or, frankly, loathe. But no matter how much they try, they can’t erase the true meaning of Christmas from our hearts. So let’s say it loud: Merry Christmas, everyone! May we never forget what it’s really about.
