Americans roundly voted down Democratic Socialists in the November elections. But moderates who cast their votes for Joe Biden may be responsible for ushering in a version of the Green New Deal that renews the Obama-era war on energy independence.
The telltale signs were subtle, but clear, that Biden would succumb to the radical left’s desire to roadblock U.S. oil and coal production, as well as ban fracking methods that deliver inexpensive and relatively clean natural gas. We all heard Biden say he would ban fracking, only to say the exact opposite when Pennsylvania started trending toward President Donald Trump.
“No more drilling on federal lands. No more drilling, including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period,” Biden said during a primary debate against Socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
In the end, Biden bamboozled battleground state voters by putting forward another option. There would be “no new fracking” under his administration. Which is it, Joe? Fracking, a ban on fracking, or no new fracking? Anything to get elected is the correct answer.
As his administrative team begins to unfold, we are seeing a very Green version of the socialist policies touted by far-left Democrats such as Sen. Sanders and firebrand New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). Biden is naming Obama-era Secretary of State John Kerry as his Climate Czar. The pair have every intention of rejoining the Paris Climate Accord and implementing its harsh regulations. The result will mirror the same attack on U.S. Oil, coal, and natural gas the country suffered during the Obama years.
“We are going to get rid of fossil fuels,” Biden reportedly said during the campaign.
His transition team — rife with Obama cronies — has already issued a memo outlining how they will approach what they call “Combating the Climate Crisis and Pursuing Environmental Justice.” It involves a full rollback of Trump’s energy-friendly regulations.
The wide-reaching agencies the Biden Administration plans to use against American energy reportedly include, the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration, the Departments of the Interior, Energy, and Transportation, as well as the departments of Agriculture, State, Justice, Treasury, and Office of Management and Budget, among others.
Climate cult activists will be securely placed in key positions to make life — and production — as difficult as possible for the energy sector. The traditional energy sector currently employs more than 6.5 million Americans.
During the Obama-Biden years, the so-called “power of the pen” was used by the White House to shut down major initiatives such as the Keystone XL pipeline. Biden is expected to reverse the permits issued by President Trump to further the project.
“A decision made to cancel Keystone XL wouldn’t just eliminate jobs on paper, it would literally take jobs away from thousands of Americans working in the field,” a TC Energy spokesman reportedly stated.
Ironically, the project moved crude from Canadian fields to U.S. processing plants in a way that reduced emissions when compared to trucking.
Kamala Harris has already gone on the record stating that the Dakota Access pipeline will be shut down, despite effectively operating since 2017.
If Republicans hold a majority in the U.S. Senate after the Georgia runoff elections are completed, Biden will wage war on energy independence by manipulating regulations and leveraging executive orders, just like Obama did. If Democrats win both chambers of Congress and the White House, Green New Deal legislation could send the country back to reliance on Middle East countries and put millions out of work.
