President Biden will personally remind over 150,000 student loan debtors that he is the person for them in an email, just to make sure they know who to thank for absolving them of the burden of repaying their debt in full.
Politico said that the proposal to release the debtors will cost US taxpayers $1.2 billion. Since Biden took office in 2021, the government has written off $138 billion in debt for nearly 4 million borrowers.
“Congratulations! You are eligible for early loan forgiveness under my team’s SAVE Plan, which will cancel all or part of your federal student loans. I pledged to reform student loan programs from the first day of my administration, so a college degree may be a gateway to the middle class rather than a hindrance to opportunity.”
Here are some more boasts from Biden:
“This measure is an additional accomplishment for students and debtors made by my administration. The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program has been fixed so that borrowers who enter public service receive the relief they are legally entitled to, and we are pursuing a new path to provide more debt relief to as many borrowers as possible. We have already approved nearly $137 billion in debt cancellation for 3.7 million borrowers through various actions, securing the largest increase to Pell Grants in a decade.”
“A critical approach to interact with borrowers, to ensure emails are opened, and to increase the profile of the incentives that we’re giving and urge more borrowers to take advantage of them,” a senior administration official stated in reference to the emails.
Republicans attempted to thwart Biden’s SAVE plan last September by putting up a Congressional Review Act resolution to reverse it. This plan would have allowed most students who took out loans for their bachelor’s degree to avoid repaying their debt and would have resulted in only $0.50 of every $1 borrowed being repaid.
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) declared, “Once again, Biden’s newest student loan plan just moves the burden from those who opted to take out loans to others who elected not to go to college, paid their own, or previously appropriately paid off their debts.”
Sen. John Thune (R-SD) stated, “President Biden continues to propose budget-killing student loan bailouts that would force around 87 percent of Americans who do not have this debt to bear the costs of the 13 percent of others who do.” This is in contrast to developing a real plan to lower the costs of higher education. “Those who never had student loan debt do so either because they earned their way through school or because their family saved money and planned for a college degree. It’s really unjust to them. It gives me great pride to introduce this resolution with my colleagues, which aims to reverse President Biden’s most recent economically reckless and unwise student loan bailout.
Just buying votes just like what he’s doing for the illegals pouring across the border. This has to stop or we’re done, plain and simple. Adding to our National Debt apparently has no consequences or explanations needed, just do it!!

I think all of the students who paid their debts should demand their money back . My children paid theirs back. Those students knew they were loans when they took them out .How about we all just decide to refuse to pay our loans and taxes They would come after us in two days. Let the students go to work and pay their debts. And stop their stupid belly aching .

This is nothing but a kick in the teeth to all those students that broke there back to pay for there education. To those parents that spent there life saving and work two and three jobs to pay for there students education. This is totally discrimination (If education is free for one it is free for all) This is just Biden way of buying votes. I paid my college tuition and my children’s tuition. My daughter is now paying off her husband’s tuition and her Master’s degree loan! What Biden has done is absurd! It means ALL of Americans have this debt put on their backs! So very WRONG!!!
I payed mine back after I was hit by Guillian Barre’ Syndrome & no longer working!! Being paralized from the neck down at 21 years old I still paid my bill.
It took me 2 years to go back to work, NOT in the field that I was in debt for.

While on the campus of Texas University in Austin a very liberal town, I heard ovsst numbers of those brain washed students discussing /laughing, how they screw everyone by letting others paid there student loans.
I object to this pandering using our taxpayer dollars to secure votes and the mad rush to change the laws so they can get them registered to vote. Why did I serve in the military to get my G.I. bill to fund my schooling? Honor earned by service instead of indebtedness is why!
