There is a well-known Democratic strategist who says that “leading” members of the party are telling him to keep quiet about President Biden’s low opinion numbers before the 2024 election.
Longtime political adviser James Carville, who supported both Bill and Hillary Clinton in their presidential bids, said to the Atlantic that Biden’s polling numbers are “not good” and added that Democrats are attempting to silence him on the subject.
In a story this week about Representative Dean Phillips’ (D-MN) newly launched bid to run against Biden, Carville stated that members of his own party are telling him to shut up about how hard it is for the president to get re-elected, but it’s not because he is wrong; it’s because what he’s saying is making them angry.
“No one is telling James that he is incorrect,” he remarked. “They’re telling James that he can not say that.”
“I am examining all of the polling data that is available. The president’s statistics just aren’t good and aren’t improving,” he said
Carville has been talking to Phillips regarding his strategy for replacing Biden as the Democratic Party’s nominee. He said, “I talk to many individuals who conduct a lot of polling on the congressional level as well as at the state level, and they keep saying the same thing. There isn’t a single exception or different point of view. Has the country decided what it wants to do?”
Carville contends that the Biden White House “functions with what I would call the concept of strategic certainty,” which is a bad approach in light of the impending election.
Carville said, “The greatest under-covered story in modern American politics is the fact that black turnout has become miserable everywhere since the year 2020.” One of Biden’s problems is that black Americans don’t vote very often.
“This is very worrying to me. I don’t believe President Biden is going to defeat Donald Trump in November,” Representative Phillips told the news source.
“I’m getting more and more angry at the silence from folks whose job is simply to be loud.”
These two rogue Democrats seemed to be right when they said that Phillips doesn’t “give a crap” about the Democratic Party and is only in it for “a vanity initiative.” Richmond, a former congressman from Louisiana, seemed to back up their claim.
Also, the Lincoln Project criticized Phillips’s bid to be Biden’s running mate.
“Don’t bring your pride to town, Dean Phillips. Instead, leave it there and see what genuine leadership looks like. This whole ‘Make America Affordable Again’ effort is just a big money grab for vanity projects,” the PAC wrote on X.
Fox News was told by the Lincoln Project that it “fully supports President Biden as well as his reelection.”
The group also said, “Dean Philips is leading an unrealistic fight to boost his own ego that is only going to weaken the President.”
