CNN Freaks Out After Truth Bomb Drops: ‘You Can’t Say That’

CNN commentator Scott Jennings sent his fellow panelists into a frenzy Monday night when he dared to suggest that X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, is the most ideologically balanced social media site. The mere hint that Elon Musk’s platform might not be the dystopian right-wing propaganda machine they imagine was enough to send liberal pundit Cari Champion into meltdown mode.

“Oh, come on, Scott, stop, stop!” Champion interrupted, as Jennings calmly explained that X has become more ideologically representative of the nation’s political split. “You cannot say that!” Champion barked, all while adding nothing substantive to refute the claim.

The conversation was sparked by Musk’s recent trolling about buying MSNBC. Predictably, CNN’s left-leaning panel saw it as yet another sign of “right-wing authoritarianism.” Champion lamented that “free speech isn’t going to be as free,” conveniently ignoring the fact that Musk’s leadership has allowed a broader spectrum of voices to flourish on X than the heavily censored days of old.

When pressed about whether Musk’s ownership should concern Americans, Jennings took aim at the real issue: the left’s utter panic over losing control of their institutional megaphones. “Isn’t the issue that the left has gotten so used to controlling almost all institutional information distribution arms in this country that when one little piece of it—whether it’s X or MSNBC or anything else—gets taken away, the panic is so outrageous?”

Jennings wasn’t wrong. A recent Pew Research study revealed that X’s user base is now nearly evenly split, with 48% of Democrats and 47% of Republicans using the platform. Compare that to 2022, when Democrats made up a whopping 65% of users. Musk’s ownership has clearly created a more balanced environment, which Jennings pointed out has liberals clutching their pearls.

Champion and her ilk couldn’t handle the truth, and their deflection was as predictable as it was weak. Former Biden-Harris campaign official Ashley Allison tried to pivot to Sinclair Broadcasting’s supposed influence, but that tired talking point does nothing to address the left’s near-total domination of legacy media, academia, and Big Tech until Musk arrived on the scene.

The left’s meltdown over X’s ideological balance highlights their real fear: losing control of the narrative. For years, platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and even the mainstream media have served as their echo chambers, silencing dissent and amplifying progressive talking points. Musk has disrupted that monopoly, and they can’t stand it.

Meanwhile, Democrats claim to champion “free speech,” but only when it aligns with their agenda. The second a platform opens its doors to a diversity of thought, it’s branded a “threat.” Elon Musk’s X is proving that balance isn’t a threat—it’s what democracy looks like. The left should take notes.
