Democrats in Congress are once again trying to tie President Donald Trump to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Their latest attempt involves a supposed letter sent from Trump to Epstein, which they claim proves a close relationship. But there’s a serious problem: the letter appears to be a fabrication, and the political motives behind its release raise real questions about national security and the weaponization of government.
The letter in question supposedly includes a typed message and a drawing of a woman’s body. It ends with the words, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Oversight Committee Democrats suggest it was signed by Trump and claim it shows a private connection between Trump and Epstein. But the White House has firmly denied the letter’s authenticity. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the story a “hatchet job,” accusing the media of launching a smear campaign without even giving the president time to respond before publishing.
This isn’t the first time Democrats have pushed Epstein-related accusations in an effort to damage political opponents. In fact, their latest move comes just as President Trump is leading major efforts to restore national security, rebuild the economy, and secure America’s borders. With little else to attack him on, Democrats are digging up old scandals and using them as political weapons.
The timing is suspicious. The letter was reportedly uncovered from Epstein’s estate, but no one has clearly explained how it was authenticated—or if it was even shown to the Trump team before being published in the press. Vice President JD Vance strongly criticized the news outlet that published the letter, calling it “complete and utter bulls**t.” He questioned the journalistic ethics of running such a story without verifying its truth or giving the accused a chance to respond.
If this was just another media misstep, it would be one thing. But the fact that Democrats are using it in Congress to accuse the president of a cover-up raises deeper concerns. We’ve seen this playbook before. From the Russia collusion hoax to the fake Steele Dossier, political actors have used false claims to justify investigations, weaken a sitting president, and distract from genuine threats to the country.
Weaponizing intelligence and public records for political gain doesn’t just hurt the individuals targeted—it damages trust in institutions. Worse, it distracts leaders from real national security concerns. While Democrats push fake birthday letters, the world is watching America’s every move. China is expanding its military power. Russia is deepening its alliance with Iran. The southern border remains a high-risk entry point for narco-terrorists. And the global financial system is under threat from digital currency manipulation and foreign cyberattacks.
Instead of focusing on these critical challenges, the opposition party is once again stuck in a cycle of political theater. They are using the name of a convicted sex trafficker to smear a president who has denied any close connection with Epstein and who famously barred him from Mar-a-Lago years ago over inappropriate behavior. That fact, backed by multiple witnesses and reports, is rarely mentioned by the same outlets now reviving old rumors.
The American people deserve better. They want leaders focused on protecting their families, securing the homeland, and preserving liberty. Every minute spent chasing ghost stories about birthday cards is a minute not spent defending the nation.
President Trump and his team have made it clear: they will fight back against false claims. Legal action is already underway, and they are determined to expose the political motives behind this latest attack. But this episode should serve as a warning. The misuse of intelligence, media, and congressional oversight for partisan goals is not just dangerous—it’s a national security risk.
America’s enemies love to see division and distraction. While some in Congress play political games, the threats to our way of life grow stronger. It’s time to put the focus back on defending America, not tearing it apart with lies.
