DeSantis Scores Another Win–Is He The Real Deal?

The state attorney on the Ninth Judicial Circuit, Monique Worrell, has been put on administrative leave through Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis because of negligence as well as incompetence.

DeSantis said that Worrell, who had got backing from an organization that is connected to billionaire George Soros, a Democrat, had let murderers, various violent felons, as well as deadly drug traffickers receive incredibly shortened terms and are escaping the full repercussions for their criminal behavior.

The policies and practices listed in the executive order that have resulted in her being suspended involve minimizing mandatory prison time for crimes involving guns, refraining from minimum mandatory sentences for trafficking illegal drugs offenses, permitting juvenile offenders to avoid severe charges as well as incarceration altogether, refraining from proper and appropriate sentencing enhancements, restricting child pornography charges, and requesting the withholding of judgment under circumstances not allowed by Florida law.

The office of DeSantis provided a long list of examples where her policies or actions had “more egregious results in action.” The following were a few instances:

  • “Worrell was at the epicenter of a significant issue only last weekend. In March 2023, Daton Viel was taken into custody on charges of lascivious and lewd molestation in addition to sexual violence on a juvenile. While Viel had been on probation for a different violation, which started in February 2023, when that arrest was made. After being released on bail, Viel shot two Orlando law enforcement officers.”
  • “Lorenzo Larry, then 17 years old, fatally murdered his pregnant girlfriend De’Shayla Ferguson in November of 2022. Larry had already been detained in May 2022 on numerous counts, including carrying a hidden weapon, having a handgun on school grounds, and having a firearm in a criminally improper manner as a minor. However, following all of these arrests, he was freed. Before he killed his fiancée and the couple’s unborn child, Worrell’s office did nothing regarding any of these accusations.”
  • “In February 2023, a 9-year-old girl and a cameraman were both fatally shot by 19-year-old Keith Moses. As a young person, he was frequently detained for crimes including severe violence, assault, and grand theft. He was detained for narcotics possession as recently as November 2021, but no charges were brought against him.”
  • “A juvenile was detained in October 2022 on suspicion of first-degree murder using a weapon. A video of the shooting was documented. Worrell’s office mysteriously filed a motion to downgrade the charge to gun possession one month later. He received a probationary period.”

At a news conference, the governor announced that he had appointed Judge Andrew Bain to succeed Worrell in her role as State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit.

DeSantis’ action comes approximately one year after he terminated State Prosecutor Andrew Warren from the 13th Judiciary Circuit, another woke Soros Attorney, from his position.

  1. The rest of the states should have these laws and then we can get rid of these idiots in the judicial system.

  2. Why have the other states not passed this law . We would not be having all this troubles with the Soros judges. A big thanks to DeSantis for thinking ahead of the woke mob.
