Establishment GOP CORNERED, Guess Who Is Bailing Them Out

A centrist Democrat in the House is proposing a rule amendment to shield Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) against extreme right-wing attempts to unseat him.

Currently, a number of bipartisan measures pertaining to Taiwan, Israel, and Ukraine’s assistance are sitting in Congress. Bipartisan budgetary legislation will also be required to prevent a government shutdown. Johnson has received warnings from those on the right not to bring them to the floor.

Representative Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) is the author of the amendment to House rules that would make it necessary for either the Democratic or Republican leadership to approve bringing a “motion to vacate” the speaker’s chair to the floor.

At present, a single member has the ability to propose a “move to vacate,” which can abruptly end the House session. Several Republicans want to modify the rule to make it more difficult to change speakers because they believe that this is not the right approach to running a government. However, the legislation could get enough Democratic support to succeed, given that it comes from a moderate Democrat.

Congress is not moving. Is there a way to sort this mess out, though?

Johnson needs some room to maneuver in order to rescue the GOP and find a way to pass legislation that gets them out of this sticky situation. That may take a little longer than Democrats would like, but that’s the way things work.

Is it really necessary to point out to everyone that Johnson would be a moron to accept any plan originating from a Democrat?

Lawmakers from both parties are putting pressure on Johnson to conduct a vote on one of the numerous bipartisan initiatives that would help Taiwan, Israel, and the Ukraine.

“However, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has stated that she will present a resolution to withdraw if Johnson places funding for Ukraine on the floor.”

“Moreover, there are a number of federal funding deadlines that Congress must meet. To prevent the government from shutting down, bipartisan legislation will be necessary, which may incite the rage of the right.”

In an attempt to circumvent the ability of any one member of the GOP caucus to remove him, Johnson himself has rejected proposals to amend the rules. Johnson also has a significant edge. A “move to vacate” may only require the support of one member, but are any Republicans really interested in holding another speaker election?

If Johnson doesn’t do something foolish, like participate in a Democratic scheme to maintain him as speaker, he should be safe.

  1. This is exactly the way the communist/Democrat Party works, they look for any conniving way to undermine something that could derail their nefarious agenda. Everything that they have done since Biden has been in has been against the American people money spent in the federal government are supposed to go to support the government and the needs of government to protect the people and they are not doing this, and they are using our money for things they should not be and secondly, the IRS should not be as the founding fathers would’ve lynched anybody who would’ve brought up such an initiative to steal money from the people who work hard every day to control what they have in their pocket to spend in their family which controls them.

  2. NO MORE TAXPAYER MONIES GOING TO FUND ANOTHER COUNTRY’S WAR(S) ! ILLEGALS NEED DEPORTATION !!! IF , AS AN AMERICAN, I COMMIT A CRIME … THEN I AM LEGALLY PUNISHED !!! IF I DON’T PAY MY FAIR SHARE AS A TAXPAYER, I AM PUNISHED !!! I AM TIRED OF THE WHOLE THING ! “AMERICA & AMERICANS FIRST” … AS IT ALWAYS SHOULD BE !!!!

    1. I agree with you 1000% America first!! No other country has helped our country to stay free ! Our American men and women have done our fighting and dying for America so let these foreign countries fight for their own selves. Why should Americans suffer for their bad choices . We have had enough of fighting their wars!!!!AMERICA TAKE CARE OF US NOW FIRST !!! Then maybe we might consider helping our friends but never our enemies!!!!

  3. As someone who has voted, for both parties I believe that the current occupier of the White House is the worst President America has ever had during my life time. I voted for the very first time in1964 and have never skipped one Presidential election in 56 years.

    1. Good for you we all need to do that too. I voted every year and I am going to continue as long as I am able. Come on Americans make the elected ones remember ” America is FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE!” We are their bosses and we pay their paychecks if they do do as we say then Let’s FIRE THEM. We Pay for all their good life and we get what back??? Think about who pays their BILLS ?!!!!!

  4. The Freedom caucus needs to clean up their act and work together. They act like toddlers throwing fits every time they don’t get their way. If they decide to ditch Johnson without actually working with him, they all need to be primaried. It’s time to get the rinos out of the house and senate and quit wasting tax payer money and time.

    1. You correctly point out the need to get rid of RINOs, but preface it with punishing the Freedom Caucus members, who are the only ones holding RINOs feet to the fire.

    2. I totally agree with you Trisha. I thinks it’s
TIME WE GET RID OF THE CORRUPT INSURRECTIONIST, Greene, Boebert, Gaetz, Comer and RAPIST JORDAN. Cannot forget all the rest of the Republicans that are against Democracy. If the Republicans
don’t want to keep the government open
      THEN SUSPEND THEIR PAYCHECKS

  5. If just one politician would say Bidum is going a great job “according to plan, the ccp plan, I personally would eat this phone. I studied and learned we are really f..fed while the sellers of America eat the biggest steak. They are sold out and probably will stop the delusion and lie for themselves bastards.

  6. Aside from Ukraine being a corrupt kleptocracy with a president who can’t be trusted, we’ve been arming them in dribs and drabs, with ridiculous restrictions attached, like not killing Russian civilians, while Russia kills 1000s of Ukrainian civilians.
