The Department of Justice (DOJ) has signaled that special counsel David Weiss will soon be able to testify before Congress concerning his investigation into President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
This week, Assistant AG Carlos Uriarte wrote to the House Judiciary Committee, saying that the Justice Department “reaffirms its commitment” to making Weiss available for testimony in the “near term” and offering to make US lawyers in California as well as Washington, D.C. accessible for testimony.
Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has asked the Department of Justice to make Weiss, a U.S. attorney from Delaware, available for a transcribed interview on October 11. It was one of many things Jordan asked for in his letter, which also asked about Weiss’s power to bring charges. The DOJ said in July that it was ready for Weiss to appear, but a plea deal in the case fell through.
“The recommended schedule’s volume and pace greatly surpass the Department’s capabilities, particularly considering the Committee’s additional outstanding demands and subpoenas to the Department concerning different subjects,” Uriarte stated in his most recent correspondence.
“We are still committed to giving information freely and without making things worse,” Uriarte wrote. “However, any new testimony and documents that are shared at this early stage must continue to be appropriately restricted in order to secure the ongoing matter as well as significant confidentiality interests.”
CNBC says Uriarte didn’t make it precisely clear when Weiss is free to testify. However, this week, Jordan informed Fox News that Weiss had decided to testify on October 18. “We’re looking forward to that,” he said.
The Daily Wire asked the office of the special counsel for a response.
After a judge looked closely at the plea deal and found flaws, Attorney General Merrick Garland made Weiss a special counsel in August. This gave the U.S. attorney more power to bring charges beyond his own district.
Early this month, Hunter Biden was charged with federal gun crimes. His attorney said that his client intended to plead not guilty. Tax fraud charges may soon be brought against the first son as well.
Garland told the House Judiciary Committee this past week that Weiss always had the freedom to bring any charges he thought were appropriate. However, the attorney general did admit that some other U.S. attorneys might choose not to work with Weiss, which is what whistleblowers have said about D.C. and California.
At the same time, President Joe Biden is being investigated for removal on charges of corruption. The first meeting for impeachment by the House Oversight Committee is set for this week.
No amount of stalling will save the Biden Crime Family, there’s plenty of time before the election. It’s about time these corrupt MFers get a taste of well timed political damage, especially when it’s fact based!
