Jim Jordan Loses His Fight For Speakership

In support of a plan to give Speaker Pro Tempore Patrick McHenry (R-NC) additional authority, Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) said this week that he will not run for Speaker of the House a third time.

Jordan faced immediate resistance from moderate New York Republicans and other House Appropriations Committee members, which resulted in his losing two votes for Speaker.

Although Jordan has a strong grassroots following, Breitbart News has shown how 22 House Republicans have prevented the Ohio Republican from holding the position of Speaker of the House:

Ken Klukowski, a senior law writer for Breitbart News, has written about how promoting McHenry could also give House Democratic Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) more power:

“According to federal law under 3 U.S.C. § 19, the Speaker of the House assumes the role of Acting President ‘until the end of the then existing Presidential tenure’ in the event that both the sitting president as well as the Vice President are incapacitated. The Speaker is followed by the acting president of the Senate. Next are the Cabinet secretaries, in the sequence that Congress set up their offices, from the secretary of state to the secretary of homeland security.”

“However, neither Speaker Pro Tempore nor Acting Speaker may hold the position; only the genuine Speaker may. Thus, in the event that McHenry—or anybody else—begins serving in the Speaker’s chair in any capacity other than that of the legitimate Speaker chosen by a roll call vote of the House, the presidential powers would be passed through the House entirely after Biden and Harris, Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) in her capacity as Senate president pro tempore, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and Alejandro Mayorkas of Homeland Security after passing through Biden’s Cabinet. Aside from the Speaker, who was properly chosen by the Republican-majority House, everyone in that line-up is a Democrat.”

Ken Blackwell, the head of the Conservative Action Project and a former US ambassador, “claims that this would be a complete betrayal of the conservative platform that helped win the House majority. Republicans must see that the uni-party establishment is attempting to thwart an America First agenda that would halt the Biden plan and clear the path for the election of a new president in 2024, thereby preserving our constitutional republic.”

  1. We are faced with some republican legislators that belong in the democrat party. Remember their names and tell others so we the people can elect credible representatives next time.

    1. Americans are stupid, including my fellow Cuban immigrants in Miami who aren’t giving RINOs Gimenez and Diaz-Balart the ultimatum to support Jordan or be voted out. I wonder how many RINOs know they’re in safe RINO districts and don’t care?

  2. Glad he lost. He is just another Trump criminal insurrectionist. Question: What do you call a person that is deathly afraid of a coward? Answer: Republican. The biggest coward in America, Trump! Speaker of the house should be Liz Cheney. Republican ticket should be: Mitt Romney and Nikky Haley! They seem to be the only Republicans left with any common sense and leadership ability!

    1. Your entitled to your opinion. Trump isn’t a coward. He was the best POTUS that America has had in over 20 plus years. He’s different, he has his quirks, but he represented and stood for America FIRST. He put the American people FIRST not like the others. Trump is the only president that left office with less money than when he came in. He donated his salary and only JFK done the same. Our economy was robust, lower taxes, affordable housing, and he tried to build a wall on the southern border for American’s safety but was defeated by radical Democrats like Pelosi.
Romney and Haley are self-serving and RINO’s like Mitch McConnell. Whether you like Trump or not is your choice, but he put AMERICA FIRST. MY OPINION

    2. And you’re a f***ing moron, if you can’t see the woeful condition Biden and Dems have reduced the nation to! Squishy moderate policies won’t fix it!

  3. I’ve never seen such division in the House of Representatives. I expect better results since taxpayers are paying these clowns $174,000 a year to represent us in Congress. i was hoping for a moderate Speaker of House to be chosen. Are these stiff neck representatives going to shut down the government and bring despair? I could do a better job at representing my constituents than those in office. Come on house, people are getting tired of this rhetoric and dissenting attitude. Choose now whom you will serve. Your constituents or yourself.

  4. Dan Bongino famously said that “there are no Republicans in the Democrat party, but there are Democrats in the Republican party!” I always want these RINO MFers ousted, like we did with Cheney, Kinzinger and Mittens, but the problem is many of these traitors are elected by equally squishy, stupid RINO voters.

  5. Dan Bongino also correctly said, “Republicans might not have all the solutions (to our country’s problems) but there is no question democRATs are the CAUSE of our problems.”
In the 90’s, then Speaker Pilousey effectively purged all the “Blue Dog Democrats” who were somewhat fiscally conservative. Since then, the DNC has ONLY backed commie-socialists to the House of Representatives and with their election fraud, they have established a lock-step opposition – Borg-like, they vote as one.
New World Order Repubs (RINOs) like all Bushes, McConnell, McCarthy, McCain, McDaniel (as in Ronna Romney) – noticing a pattern here? – and the 20+ anti-Jordan lobbyist lackeys have been exposed. Let the “House Cleaning” begin.

  6. Oh they will choose….the Rinos will get their choice and the rest will have to go along to save face…..everytime I think we’re going to get a leg up….my worst fears of the swamp being wider and deeper than I thought emerges…again…and….like Trump….Jordan is a warrior….and they only want pawns….like the person they have in the presidency.
