Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley announced on Wednesday that she was leaving the GOP presidential race, making former President Donald Trump the front-runner for 2024. CNN commentator Van Jones suggested that President Joe Biden could win over Haley’s donors and supporters by telling them that if they chose Trump, they would see “Russian tanks rolling through Europe” a year from now.
Jim Acosta, a CNN journalist, prodded Jones to discuss Haley’s departure during their back-and-forth.
According to Jones, “This is a painful time, I tell you, and not only for individuals in the United States.” “Today is a terrible day for a Ukrainian soldier facing a wall of Russians and having to limit your ammunition because one of the greatest American heroes—strong for democracy and our allies—just lost today. And you start to feel more alone and fearful of what is ahead. Where’s the United States? You could ask if you’re in Poland or somewhere in Europe and you see a wall of Russians advancing on you. I’m having a bad day.
He said, “Today is not good for democracy.” “Not only in the US, but all throughout the world.”
