Kentucky Senator Rand Paul thanked police for their protection after he was surrounded by a heckling mob following President Donald Trump’s acceptance speech last Thursday.
In the footage provided below, you see Washington, DC police forming a tight perimeter around the senator as vocal protesters close in. In the background, you can hear a woman screaming “say her name!”, in reference to the sloganeering typically heard at Black Lives Matter demonstrations. At one point in the video, a protester appears to break the perimeter, but law enforcement officers quickly regain control.

Senator Paul later stated that there was no doubt in his mind that the situation could have turned violent if not for the police presence.
“I truly believe this with every fiber of my being, had they gotten at us they would have gotten us to the ground, we might not have been killed, might just have been injured by being kicked in the head, or kicked in the stomach until we were senseless,” the senator told Fox News.
This isn’t the first time Senator Paul, long known as a libertarian-leaning Republican who opposes most foreign conflicts, has been targeted in this way. He was reportedly attacked by a neighbor in 2017, resulting in several broken rips and a lengthy hospital recovery. The Kentucky senator is one of many voices calling for calm as violent riots break out across the country.
So, how soon will members of the mainstream media disavow this attack? Will Joe Biden or Kamala Harris do the same? Considering it took the former Vice President literally months to even acknowledge that the violent riots were even happening, we’re not holding our breathe here…
