After the first GOP debate, Trump seems to have not only kept his lead, but also grown it. We’re still a long way off, and anything could happen, but Trump seems to be getting stronger even though the left is trying to hurt him. A Wall Street Journal poll from last week found that he still leads the primary field by 46 points and is tied with Joe Biden in the general election. That could mean that at least some Independents agree with the Republicans and think that Trump is being unfairly picked on.
People like Donna Brazile, a political expert and former chair of the DNC, are worried about this. She said that in her life, she had only seen a few political movements like this. Like the Reagan movement and the Obama movement.
“I have never seen anything just like this with Donald Trump. What does not kill you makes you stronger, right? Being charged with something makes him stronger. Using an ugly mug shot to raise $10 million…This is a serious movement, and anyone who thinks they can beat this guy by saying he is scary, ugly, or something else they want to call him is wrong. This is a big movement, and we have to accept the fact that it is a movement.”
This is why they are using lawfare against him with everything they have. If they can’t put him in jail, they want to keep him from running for office. If they can’t get him off the ticket, they want to keep him busy fighting these things so he cannot campaign. If that does not work, they want him to fight the charges with everything he has. If that doesn’t work, they want to get the Independents to not vote for him by saying bad things about him. And what will they do if that doesn’t work?
