UN Report Tells Tales Of Ukrainian Forces Using Elderly Citizens As Human Shields

A bombshell report from the United Nations (UN) has found that Ukrainian officials allowed an elder care facility to be used as a military stronghold, where those who were in care were used as human shields by soldiers who had also laid mines around the facility.

While the world has been bombarded with images of supposed Russian soldiers committing atrocities against the people of Ukraine, including a well-publicized bombing of a maternity ward, many have been trying to point out for the longest time, that it was in fact Ukrainian forces, including the Nazi affiliated Azov Battalion, who have been using civilians as their fodder.

Russians attacked a Ukrainian military outpost, many of those inside, were killed or injured after being used as human shields by the Ukrainian military that were hiding within – Russia was accused of war crimes.

But when residents who survived managed to escape, they were offered aid from Russian soldiers and there is other footage of Russian soldiers helping locals within the fighting zone get food and water because they were being gunned down by the Azov Battalion if they left their homes for supplies.

The Associated Press reported an article titled, “UN says Ukraine bears share of blame for nursing home attack”:

Two weeks after Russia invaded Ukraine in February, Russian forces assaulted a nursing home in the eastern region of Luhansk. Dozens of elderly and disabled patients, many of them bedridden, were trapped inside without water or electricity.

The March 11 assault set off a fire that spread throughout the facility, suffocating people who couldn’t move. A small number of patients and staff escaped and fled into a nearby forest, finally getting assistance after walking for 5 kilometers (3 miles).

In a war awash in atrocities, the attack on the nursing home near the village of Stara Krasnyanka stood out for its cruelty. And Ukrainian authorities placed the fault squarely on Russian forces, accusing them of killing more than 50 vulnerable civilians in a brutal and unprovoked attack.

But a new U.N. report has found that Ukraine’s armed forces bear a large, and perhaps equal, share of the blame for what happened in Stara Krasnyanka, which is about 580 kilometers (360 miles) southeast of Kyiv. A few days before the attack, Ukrainian soldiers took up positions inside the nursing home, effectively making the building a target.

At least 22 of the 71 patients survived the assault, but the exact number of people killed remains unknown, according to the United Nations.

The report by the U.N.’s Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights doesn’t conclude the Ukrainian soldiers, or the Russian troops committed a war crime. But it said the battle at the Stara Krasnyanka nursing home is emblematic of the human rights office’s concerns over the potential use of “human shields” to prevent military operations in certain areas.

Former Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Lyudmila Denisova, admitted last month that she had exaggerated claims that Russian soldiers were raping Ukrainian women, in an attempt to get more aid and weapons sent to President Zelensky’s government from the United States.

  1. With the bidens in power, Ukraine will continue to receive taxpayer dollars. The kickbacks just make the bidens richer.

  2. I am certain that as the battle continues, there will be far more stories of Russian and Ukrainian propaganda that is easily molded into strong allegations. I am an 88 year old retired Air Force pilot, and I saw combat action in Korea and Vietnam. The duties many of my comrades in arms and I shared was the insistence of people like McNamara, who relished on enemy body count. This caused many leaders from squads to companies to every level up to the four-star positions to exaggerate in order to impress whoever the hell gave a damn. Higher level politicians actually wanted the wars from 1950 to date to continue, because it was invigorating to the USA industry. Those who were for and those who were against the wars quickly spread their tainted versions to influence whoever they could. This same type of game is being played by Russia and Ukraine. Unfortunately, that is the way wars are fought. In this situation, one side confronts the other side with propaganda to win the support of non-combating nations. All facts and rumors should be collected so that in the end, the world can see who did what and where.

  3. Let us get the facts straight Russia did not blow up a maternity ward, that was a false flag, full of actors, please stop telling lies about Russia here. Russia is the one that is actually giving aid to Ukraine people, they are the ones that saved 35,000 children from the sex traffickers and tunnels under biden’s compound. They are the ones that informed us that the US has 30+ bio labs that are illegal over there, hidden so we did not know about them. Ukraine has been a corrupt country for many years, OB and biden caused a coup and replaced the ruler (he wouldn’t cooperate!) with Zelenskyy someone they can control?? We are sending billions over there and Ukraine is selling the arms and weapons to other countries??? So, I say stop sending anything, Russia already won!!
