Hunter Biden’s closest business colleague, Devon Archer, informed House investigators how Hunter Biden put then-Vice President Biden on speakerphone more than 20 times with business partners to market “the brand.”
One of those calls, according to testimony from Archer, was dinner in China alongside Jonathan Li from Bohai Harvest RST (BHR). Through Rosemont Seneca Thornton, a front firm, Hunter Biden and Archer kept their stakes in the business.
Archer declared In 2014, Joe Biden joined Hunter Biden and other businessmen for dinner at Café Milano in Washington, D.C. The event was also attended by Yelena Baturina, the wealthy ex-wife of Moscow’s longterm mayor.
On February 14, 2014, according to Republican investigators, Baturina deposited $3.5 million into Rosemont Seneca Thornton.
Russian billionaire Baturina is not included on the Biden Administration’s sanctions list, according to Breitbart News.
In 2014, when Burisma was being investigated for malfeasance, Hunter Biden and Archer both joined the company’s board of directors of the Ukrainian energy business. Hunter Biden received $83,000 per month to serve on the board of Burisma.
In addition, Archer said that in the month of December 2015, Mykola Zlochevsky, a co-owner of Burisma, and Vadym Pozharski, an official of the company, exerted pressure on Hunter Biden to seek assistance from Washington, D.C., in relation to Viktor Shokin, a Ukrainian prosecutor who was looking into Burisma for corruption.
While on an official trip to Ukraine in 2015, Joe Biden boasted about the dismissal of prosecutor Viktor Shokin years after that in 2018. He discussed Ukraine’s corruption with former President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv during his visit.
According to Archer, Hunter Biden “made a call to D.C.” together with Zlochevsky and Pozharski to discuss the legal position. Biden, Zlochevsky, and Pozharski stood aside to make the call.
James Comer (R-KY), chair of the House Oversight Committee, stated in a statement that “Devon Archer’s testimony today proves Joe Biden was lying to the American people when he claimed he had no awareness of his son’s business activities and wasn’t involved.”
“Why did Joe Biden misrepresent his family’s business activities and his role to the American people? What more may he be concealing from the American people,” he continued.
